Ann Fitz-Gerald told the international community that Ethiopiais fighting with non-state terrorist group TPLF that has a blessing of some world powers and international media outlets for deceiving the world.Conducting an interview with Rabble,California, Wilfrid Laurier University’sPolitical Science Department Professor,Ann Fitz-Gerald, stated the Biden administration has, as iniquitous players behind the scenes, based on statements and decisions which mirror the TPLFpropaganda, chosen to support the TPLFrather than labeling it a terrorist as othercountries are doing. The group, of course, has been compromising the nationalinterests, but Ethiopia is well overcomingits futile attempts for the latter is proud ofits citizens’ unity and fraternity. It is well recognized that the TPLF hadnever allowed international media toreport over the last 27 years when it hadbeen in power. However, the terroristgroup did eventually allow journalists andanalysts who didn’t question their Marxisttheory to deal with ideas and give specialattention to the U.S. Both strategies arenow paying off, according to her.She recalled that earlier in August,Samantha Power, USAID Head, travelledto Ethiopia and her statements eerilyEthiopia fighting with non-state terrorist group: Ann Fitz-Gerald mimicked TPLF propaganda. Her recenttrip resulted in a call for the TPLF towithdraw from the neighboring regions ofAfar and Amhara. As to Ann Fitz-Gerald, following theTPLF’s incursion into the town of Lalibela, the U.S. government chose not to condemnthe invasion, violation of human rights;instead, the administration expressedconcern the damage posed on Lalibela’scultural heritage sites. This by itself istantamount to giving recognition to theterrorist invasion.
Having a stay with BBC,“TPLF is a non-State terrorist groupsupported by the international communitythat adheres to Mao Zedong’s insurgencydoctrine to a tee, including the use ofguerilla warfare while simultaneouslydisseminating misinformation about thegovernment culminating in civil war.”The difference between the 1930’s andtoday is that the TPLF has keyboardwarriors on social media and theirpropaganda has immediate, far-reachingeffects, she indicated. With TPLF demands changing andupdating as each week goes by, FitzGeraldmaintained that “As the TPLF hasnot communicated any strategic objectiveor desirable end state as an outcome tothe conflict, those who support its agendaare doing so at a considerable risk”. Afterthis ceasefire is reached, the TPLF demandinclusive political dialogue with the majorpolitical forces in Ethiopia in order to arriveat a transitional arrangement to decide thepolitical future of Ethiopia in the presenceof the legitimately elected government. This is a foolish approach to purelydeceive the international community. Tothe surprise of everyone, the U.S. and somewestern countries have taken this deceitfulapproach for granted. The TPLF was a dominant force for closeto 30 years until Prime Minister AbiyAhmed came to power in 2018.
