I. Introduction

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion – the fabricated antisemitic tract describing a purported Jewish plot for global domination that first emerged 120 years ago – have been been the subject of much scholarly study. MEMRI is following in the footsteps of scholars, continuing research of the Protocols, with a special focus on their use across the Arab and Muslim world, in Arabic, Farsi, Turkish, and Urdu.

The Protocols are one of two antisemitic conspiracy theories borrowed, adopted, and adapted by Arab and Muslim antisemitism from Eastern Christian antisemitism; the other is the blood libel.

Over the years, the Protocols have become increasingly widespread in the Arab and Muslim world, as more and more historical developments need to be explained and understood using them. As with other forms of hate propaganda, the advent of the Internet and social media – Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Telegram, and TikTok – has led to an explosion in the prevalence and availability of the Protocols in the Arab and Muslim world.

Thus, whether the 24 protocols supposedly stolen from the First Zionist Congress in Basel in 1897 are authentic documents or a Tsarist fabrication within the larger context of Arab and Muslim antisemitism is no longer relevant. In Arab and Muslim antisemitism, the Protocols are not merely a compilation of documents or a book, but reflect a certain perspective on history and on reality. They are also a path to the Arab and Muslim understanding of the past, the present, and – if the Jews are not stopped – the future.

This collection and analysis of the Protocols in Arabic, Farsi, Turkish, and Urdu shows their spread and use across the Arab and Muslim world.

Introduction

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is one of the books that has been most widely shared, promoted, and cited on social and traditional media by Islamic scholars, academics, intellectuals, influencers, celebrities, political and politicians throughout the Arab world. This phenomenon dates back decades and shows no sign of abating. These figures present the book as authoritative and authentic (despite well-established evidence that it is a fabrication from Tsarist Russia), and they argue that many of the articles in the Protocols have already been implemented by the Jews. Global and regional events such as the Arab Spring and the COVID-19 pandemic have also been attributed to conspiracies supposedly described in the Protocols, as even have mundane phenomena such as the popularity of soccer in the Arab and Muslim world or the evolution in some traditional sexual taboos in the West. .

It is noteworthy that while there are some Arab academics, government officials, and media figures who openly dismiss the Protocols as a forgery, this is a rare occurrence, dwarfed by the sheer volume of voices that claim it is authentic or even that it doesn’t really matter, one way or another. Indeed, many “refutations” actually take the form of the argument that whether the Protocols are fabricated or not, reality unfolds in accordance with the conspiracies the Protocols describe.

This document will present examples of references to The Protocols of the Elders of Zion in the Arab world on social media, in traditional media, and from MEMRI’s archives. It should be noted that MEMRI has obtained over 120 additional examples which for the sake of brevity have not been included in this document and will published in the future. Islamic Scholars

Arabic language commentary by Islamic clerics promoting the Protocols comes in every shape and form.  It is found among regime clerics and anti-regime imams, by Islamists, Salafists and centrists, from anti-American regimes and pro-American regimes, in public and private platforms, from large and small accounts.

On January 15, 2023, the Alzawya.Alshafeya YouTube channel posted a video of a Friday sermon delivered by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hudhud, formerly the President of Al-Azhar University in Cairo. Dr. Al-Hudhud condemned those who criticize Muslim religious scholars, blamed the Jews for backing them, and told those who would like to understand the “truth” about this issue to read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

He said: “Those who would like to know the truth about this issue should read the book The Protocols of the Elders of Zion to learn that Judaism and the Freemasonry are behind this. It is part of the characteristics of the Jews to attack messengers and prophets, as well as killing prophets and criticizing scholars… When they saw that Islam elevated the Muslims and united and empowered them, they looked for the secret behind this, and they found that the secret was the scholars, who are the heirs to the prophets and messengers and always lead the Ummah and guide them… So, they want to disconnect people from their God by discrediting the scholars.”[1]

On a January 15, 2009, show on Al-Rahma TV (Egypt), Egyptian Islamic scholar Salama Abd Al-Qawi said: “Read, if you will, that black book, in which they included those Protocols of the Elders of Zion. They composed these black protocols themselves, in order to destroy the inner power of our nation. They composed these protocols in 1897 in Switzerland, in their black congress, which brought together all the Elders of Zion. They began conspiring to annihilate the Islamic and Arab nation, to plunder its resources, and to destroy its youth. Regretfully, the plots they hatched are being implemented today in detail.”[2]

At a May 5, 2016, at the Umayyad Mosque of Damascus, Sheikh Muhammad Ma’moun Rahma said: “They are behind many of the ideological and political movements in the East and West. Oh, Muslims and Arabs, listen to what The Protocols of the Elders of Zion tells us. They said: ‘We must get our hands on the global news agencies, because the press and the media are the means to control global ideology. That way, people will only see the news from the point of view we choose.’ Their goal is to uproot Islam and bring ruin upon its followers.”[3]

In a May 29, 2015, sermon that was aired on state-run Channel 1 (Kuwait), Kuwaiti Islamic scholar Talal Musa’id Al-‘Amer said: “The Jews play a major role in institutionalizing and spreading corruption. They control the organizations that strive to abolish the moral and religious differences between men and women. This includes the agreement known as CEDAW, which fights discrimination between men and women. Allah described the Jews by saying: ‘They strive [to spread] corruption throughout the land, and Allah does not like corrupters.’ We all know that they are the ones who planned this corruption, as is made clear by The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which is based on divisiveness, leading people astray with nonsense, and supporting tyranny and injustice.”[4]

In a December 21, 2018, show on pro-regime Sada Al-Balad TV (Egypt), Al-Azhar Islamic scholar Sheikh Saeed Numan said: “Darwin talked about God’s Chosen People. We also have Sigmund Freud who said that human beings are controlled by sex. We have Friedrich Engels and Karl Marx who said that religion is the opium of the people. We have Theodor Herzl, who created The Protocols of the Elders of Zion that destroyed the world. As a religious scholar, I am responsible for preventing destructive Jewish principles from infiltrating my society.[5]

Sudanese Sheikh Muhammad Tannoun said in a December 19, 2018, sermon in Khartoum: “The Jews claim that Palestine and any other land that they have inhabited belongs to them. In The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, they say that they want to rule the world according to one religion only – their religion. This is why they want to turn Jerusalem into the capital of this global state.”[6]

In a November 1, 2013 sermon, Kuwaiti Islamic scholar (and professor of Sharia at Kuwait University) Abd Al-Muhsin Al-Mutairi: “The Jews were successful in preoccupying the Muslim youth – except those protected by Allah – with the most inane matters, distracting them from important things, in keeping with what is written in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.”[7]

In a November 23, 2012, sermon, Egyptian Islamic scholar Abd Al-Fattah Abu Zayd said: “It was said in The Protocols of the abominable elders of Zion that alcohol and prostitutes would be capable of destroying Muslim youths more than a thousand cannons. They will drown them in urges and desires. That is their plan.”[8]

On a January 17, 2013, show on Iqra TV, Saudi Islamic scholar Muhammad Musa Al-Sharif said: “The return of the youth to Allah is what annoys the Jews most. It is the most effective tool against them. The Jews have tried in the past decades… Read the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. They have been doing all they can to lead you astray.”[9]

On a May 27, 2013, interview on the Salafi Al-Hafez TV, Egyptian Islamic scholar Khaled Kholif of the Qatari-funded International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) said: “America and Israel are pleased with [the Egyptian opposition] movements, which are led by the brainless. They have said so in The Protocols. Let me tell you exactly what they said in The Protocols: ‘We will strive to undermine security in the lands of the Gentiles, through reckless revolutions, led by the brainless.’ It says so in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, as translated by Khalifa Al-Tunisi. If you haven’t read it, you should.”[10]

Exiled Egyptian Islamic scholar Wagdi Ghoneim said in a March 11, 2012, address aired on Hamas-controlled Palestinian Al-Aqsa TV: “Our enemies are keeping our youth busy with nonsense, in order to turn them into idiotic fools. They wrote it all down in a book called The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion.”[11]

On June 6, 2010, Egyptian cleric Mus’id Anwar said in a speech that was aired on Al-Rahma TV: “The Jews, or the Zionists, have The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Over 100 years ago, they formulated a plan to rule the world, and they are implementing this plan. One of the protocols says: “Keep the [non-Jews] preoccupied with songs, soccer, and movies.”Is it or isn’t it happening? It is.”[12]

Egyptian cleric Abd Al-Wahhab Al-Maligi said during a lesson that was aired on Al-Seha Wal-Jamal TV (Egypt) on March 27, 2017 that the Jews prevent Muslims from performing female circumcision because “they do not want Islam or the Muslims to be pure, developed, and civilized.”He cited The Protocols of the Elders of Zion in support of his argument.[13]

On August 25, 2021, Watan TV (Turkey-based Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood channel) aired a video featuring Turkey-based Egyptian Islamic scholar Sheikh Sameh Al-Gobah saying that the Jews and communists have constructed a plan to destroy Muslim family values and that their plan is detailed in the Protocols of the “Villainous” Elders of Zion. According to Al-Gobah, “a war is being waged against the Muslim family and its values, in an attempt to distort and destroy these values. The truth is that the effort to destroy the numerous family values is an old plan contrived by the Jews and the Communists together, as is written in the Protocols of the Villainous Elders of Zion – I do not want to call them the Wise Elders of Zion… The Villainous Elders of Zion say in those Protocols, verbatim: ‘We will destroy the family life of the gentiles and corrupt its cultural significance.’ This is what they wrote in one of the Protocols. The gentiles are us, the Muslims.”[14]

Emirati Islamic scholar Dr. Ahmad Bin Al-Shaikh wrote in a September 8, 2022 Facebook post that he had read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion for the first time when he was 16 years old, and that this led him to question “the motives and reasons which encouraged this group of people to have such thoughts, and why they seek [to] control the world.” Al-Shaikh explained: “To date, the only answer I have arrived to is that they are obsessed with the desire to have control and to save money… They also believe that they are the best in the world and that the rest of people are their servants and slaves.” He also said: “It is not just limited to homosexuality. We can also notice the promotion of all kinds of sensuality and materialism. We have noticed the spread of drug use in television series and movies. We have noticed the spread of individualism at the expense of tradition and customs… We have noticed that there are attempts to destroy families and break family ties. We have noticed the activities to spread vice… All this serves the directives of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.”[15]

Egyptian Salafi preacher Ahmed Bin Emarah said in a video titled “How To Thwart the Elders of Zions’ Plots To Destroy Islam”, which he published on his YouTube channel on November 3, 2020, that the Jews have a plan to become the “masters of the world”by destroying Islam and Christianity.”[16]

In a YouTube video published on December 21, 2022, Palestinian Islamic scholar Sheikh Yousef Abu Islam said that in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, the Jews outlined a plot to engross people in sports, including soccer, in order to advance their end goal of causing people to “annihilate”one another. He elaborated that one of the Jews’ goals is to transform sports from a means to train men, women, and children for Jihad into an “organized means of distracting entertainment.”[17]

In a video published by the Al-Rahma Faith Center’s YouTube channel on December 2, 2022, British imam Abu Usamah At-Thahabi said: “In one of those Protocols, they said: ‘Let’s keep the people busy with sports and games’… And that’s why all those people make all that money.”[18]

In a June 22, 2018, Friday sermon at the Lala Pasha Mosque in Damascus, Dr. Muhammad Ali Al-Malla said that the World Cup soccer tournament was part of a plot outlined in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion mean to distract the Arabs and the Muslims from the defiling of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the bloodshed in Gaza.[19]

On December 6, 2022, Moroccan Islamic scholar Muhammad Al-Far’ani posted a video to YouTube in which he said: “Those Jews have plans that everyone is aware of. They are called The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. These are long term plots.” He said that one of the goals of the protocols is “to keep the masses misguided [and] distracting them by creating entertainment tools, games, and different types of sports.”[20]

On December 1, 2020, Egyptian Salafi cleric Muhammad Al-Sawi posted a video to his YouTube channel in which he said: “Read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and see how it was written in them that one of the bases of distracting nations is soccer.”[21]

Gaza-based cleric Khalid Abu Hassan said in a video posted to his YouTube channel on January 11, 2022 that although the Protocols were indeed fabricated by Tsarist Russia’s intelligence agencies, the Jews obtained a copy of the book and nonetheless “found these Protocols useful in their aspiration to control the world.” He explained: “The Arab countries were besieged by Freemasonry, the deep state which applies the Protocols… What they seek is mentioned in the 13 protocol, which states: ‘When we empower ourselves, we will be the masters of the world and we will not allow any religion to exist in the world except our religion.’ The Jews believe that according to the Torah and Talmud, this Jewish king who was mentioned in the Protocols will rule the world from where Solomon’s Temple will be built in Jerusalem.”[22]

Kuwaiti Islamic scholar Abdallah Al-Mohailan said in a video posted to his YouTube channel on November 27, 2020: “What is more important right now is studying this book objectively. We can prove the authenticity of this book by objectively examining the articles of this book… In fact, if we analyze the articles of this book, we will find that they are all accurate and in 100 or 120 years, all of the book’s articles have been implemented or are currently being implemented. They are 100% accurate. We can prove the authenticity of this book by comparing it to reality”[23] Notably, Al-Mohailan’s video was shared on TikTok on January 26, 2023 by user @majd1304.

Palestinian cleric Jihad Al-‘Ayesh said in a video posted on YouTube on September 25, 2020: “Some said it was written in that period, others believed that it was written in a later period, and others don’t know who wrote it exactly. But everyone agrees that everything was mentioned in the Protocols is compatible with reality.”[24]

In a sermon published on his YouTube channel on February 6, 2020, Moroccan Islamic scholar Mustapha Likssire urged his audience of more than 56,000 subscribers to read the Protocols “to understand through it and learn from its content the global Zionist and Freemasonry plot that was orchestrated by this accursed gang to destroy humanity in general and Islam and Muslims in particular.”[25]

According to Likssire, “the book contains the plot and the satanic methodology of this criminal gang… When you read this book, you will clearly find and you learn that everything that the conspiracy that is taking place against Islam and Muslims is inspired by this book and it is an execution of its articles or some of them. The global Zionism took it on itself to follow the Book’s exact chapters and paragraphs… Many of the calamities that the Muslims are experiencing now were implemented according to the book.”Likssire then read a few lines from the book and explained to his audience that they focus on encouraging the humiliation of non-Jewish religious scholars in order to destroy Islam and remove one of the obstacles preventing them from dominating the world.

Intellectuals, Academics, and Writers

As with the previous selection of Islamic clerics, the category of intellectuals, academics and writers promoting the Protocols includes a wide range: pro-government, establishment figures and ‘opposition,’ fringe personalities, from pro-Western and anti-Western regime perspectives.

Sharif Hamed, a Professor of Hebrew Language and Literature at Al-Manufiya University in Egypt, said in an Al-Fareen TV (Egypt) show aired on December 25, 2009: “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion clearly states that [the Jews] must take over the world, by transforming the world’s people into riffraff. They strive to generate conflicts in the world and to fan the flames of strife. In addition, these protocols call to employ all the immoral methods, like bribery, deception, treachery, and the spreading of abominations, in order to send the world down this bottomless pit. This would make it easier for the Jews to hunt down the peoples of the world, one by one.”[26]

Egyptian academic Dr. Samir Taqi Al-Din said in an April 20, 2018 show on Al-Rahma TV (Egypt): “It is no coincidence that the people who came up with the materialistic, secular, atheist ideologies were all Jews. Of course, you should read the Protocols of Whatever Zion… I don’t want to say ‘Wise Elders’ because they weren’t wise or anything… When you read the Protocols, you will know that what I am saying is true.”[27]

On a February 9, 2018 show on Channel 2 (Egypt), Egyptian Professor of Israeli Studies Abd Al-Razzaq Suleiman said: “They said that it was alien to them, and was written in German, not Hebrew. In the most recent study to emerge from the Israeli research centers, they said that the Gentile countries – that is, everybody who is not Jewish, including America… They said: If the [Gentiles] attack us, we will implement the Protocols over them all.”[28]

Palestinian journalist Dr. Nasser Al-Laham, the Editor-in-Chief of Maan News Agency, said in a September 16, 2020 show on Mayadeen TV (Lebanon): “The Emiratis and Bahrainis who normalize [their relations with Israel] believe – and I don’t know who planted this conviction in their brains – that the Israelis love them. They are clearly not well versed in the Bible, the Talmud, or The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.”[29]

In a July 22, 2021 show on Mayadeen TV (Lebanon), Lebanese political analyst Dr. Talal Atrissi said: “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, regardless of whether its author and its content are real or not…This book is banned from French bookstores. If this book is found there, the bookstore is shut down, while the cartoons of Charlie Hebdo were published…After the [2015] attack on [the offices of] Charlie Hebdo, all the newspapers in France supported the magazine, saying ‘we are all Charlie Hebdo.’ There is a phobia of the Holocaust and a phobia of antisemitism. This deviates from all the principles of the alleged democracy, of the freedom of criticism, and of the freedom of thought.”[30]

August 4, 2022, Syrian Israeli affairs expert Muhammad Nasour accused the “Zionists”of being behind the 1945 bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, saying that all the wars, killing, and destruction the world has witnessed is a product of the “Talmudic mind, which later produced The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.”[31]

On April 26, 2021, Kuwaiti writer Nasser Hadram, who has over 65,000 followers, tweeted: “Global Zionism likes submissive Islam because it serves the imperialist ambition and it does not like resisting Islam. When we look carefully, we will find that Greater Israel, which is mentioned in the Protocols, actually exist with its tools.”[32]

On November 30, 2018, Sudanese national and former Guantanamo Bay detainee Waleed Al-Haj (released in 2008) tweeted a poster depicting former U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu standing next to a map showing “Greater Israel”. Al-Haj commented: “Normalization with the Zionist entity means enabling Tel Aviv to carry out its plan to seize the Nile Basin and completing the Protocols of Zion (from the Euphrates to the Nile) and completing the destruction of what has remained of Sudan as a one-unit state, besieging of Egypt from the south and taking control over the Nile river and establishing the great state of Israel.”[33]

On July 4, 2022, Dr. Talal Al-Jassar, who holds a PhD from Bayreuth University in Germany and works as an assistant professor in the Arabic language department at the University of Kuwait, tweeted: “The persistent imposition of homosexuals who are deviant sexually on societies and the talk about their alleged rights does not come from a void or for no reason. It is in fact an implementation of Protocols 9 and 13 from The Protocols of the Elders of Zion [which call] for the destruction of moral norms, spreading vices and homosexuality; therefore, the first president of the homosexuals is the German Jew Magnus Hirschfeld” [note: Hirschfeld was a German sexologist who died in 1935].

On January 7, 2022, Union of Arab Historians member Huyam Abdou Mazyed tweeted: “The Jewish Peril book was written by Professor Sergei Nilus in 1905 [note: Nilus was not a ‘professor” but a Russian Orthodox religious writer] after he acquired many original documents of the evil Freemasonry plots to take control over the world. The book was translated into English by British journalist Victor Marsden under the title The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and even though he received death threats, the book was published.[34]

On December 1, 2022, Algerian YouTuber Sahrawi Muneer tweeted a link to a PDF copy of the Protocols available on his website.[35] Muneer wrote: “From the beginning to its end, this book addresses one topic: It uncovers the role of global Judaism, whose tools are Zionism and Freemasonry. It uncovers the bloody principle of congregating and storming, which has been applied in Palestine since 1920. It uncovers the secrets of Global Jewry, whose outer glove or first station is Israel.”[36]

On May 5, 2022, Omani activist Zahir Al-Abri tweeted photos of pages from the book and commented: “If you haven’t heard about the Protocols of the Zionist movement before, you can learn about some of it from the book The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, written by Matvei Golovinski [note: Golovinski was a Russian who worked for the Tsarist secret police, the Okhrana, and later joined the Bolsheviks] from the attached pages below. I have attached the pages 125-128 from the Arabic version of the book.”[37]

On November 27, 2021, Kuwaiti historian Mohanna Al-Mohanna, who has over 135,000 followers on Twitter, tweeted a photo of an Arabic-language book titled The Hidden Forces in World Politics – Who Rules the World? He commented: “Make sure to have this important book, which proves that The Protocols of the Elders of Zion were written by Jews and are not fabricated. This book has refuted all the arguments that have been made by the Jews to distance themselves the Protocols. It mentions the names of the person who obtained them and the first person who published them, and it exposes the lies that Tsarist Russia’s intelligence agencies were behind it.”[38]

On November 12, 2022, Al-Mohanna tweeted a photo of an Arabic-language book titled The Mystery of the Zionist Protocols. He commented: “This is the best book, study, and scientific research that proves that The Protocols of the Elders of Zion are real and not fabricated by the Okhrana – the -Russian Empire’s police – as you have been deceived and lied to by the Rabbis. It has been proven with historic evidence, documents, and court orders from Bern, Switzerland, which had ruled that the Protocols were real.”[39]

On November 28, 2022, Kuwaiti writer Najm Abdel Karim, who has 65,000 followers on Twitter, shared a YouTube link to an Arabic-language audio version of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. He commented: “This is not the first time I have read this destructive book, but this time, I have listened to a recorded version of it. I hope that you deepen your knowledge about Zionism so that you know its true nature.”[40]

On December 3, 2022, the same link was shared by Twitter user @saudiwomnspirit, with the hashtags #ProtocolsoftheEldersofZion, #abookIrecommend and #anaudiobook.[41]

On January 6, 2020, Egyptian Facebook user Dr. Mohsen Abdelzaher Fayed, who has a PhD in the Fundamentals of Islamic jurisprudence from Ain Shams University, posted a video that described The Protocols of the Elders of Zion as “authentic and not just mere lies.”He wrote: “Everyone who reads it will become certain that it is authentic, as it includes plots and conspiracies that have actually been implemented, like the ending of the Tsarist rule in Russia, the spread Communism there, the application of an absolute authoritarian rule, and using Russia country as a center to promote conspiracies and unrest in the world. The Ottoman Islamic caliphate was ended by them before the founding of Israel. [The conspiracies that have been implemented also include] the founding of the state of Israel, the concentration of the Jews in Palestine, the downfall of kingdoms in Europe, Germany, Austria, Romania, Spain and Italy and the sparking of global wars for the first time in history where both sides lose, with the Jews being the only ones who benefit. Two world war have already taken places and the Jews are setting up for a third one, and they are sowing discord, unrest, and a global economic crisis. They have also launched the so-called Arab Spring, which caused the downfall of several important Arab countries. They are building the economy based on gold monopolized by them. They also control all the media around the world. It would take longer time to mention all the elements of the conspiracy as mentioned in the Zionist Protocols, but we will try to shed light on the most important goals that were mentioned… For centuries, the Jews had secret plots aimed at taking control over the world for their exclusive interests. The plot has been gradually revised by their elders depending on the circumstances. This plot of theirs is derived from their hatred of all religions. The Jews seek to overthrow governments in all countries, especially monarchs, and replace them with an authoritarian Jewish royal government.”[42]

In addition, Fayed wrote: “Your hair will whiten. Listen, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and the plots of Freemasonry are actually happening. We used to hear about them from our teachers and we did not believe them until the unfolding of the events of the Arab Spring and until countries were destroyed for the founding of the State of Greater Israel. Wake up, oh youth! Why did the scholars and the intellectuals in Iraq, Syria, and Libya ignore these plots and neglect what had been plotted against them and their real enemy was? Unfortunately, their countries were destroyed, and they were displaced and the scholars were slaughtered like sheep.”

Egyptian writer and novelist Saad Ahmed Mohamed wrote on his Facebook page on May 16, 2016: “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is a very interesting book that talks about what had happened, what is happening, and what will happen in countries… Every single letter written in the book has been applied in the West and in the East. I challenged anyone to find a single article that has not been applied exactly in Egypt in the political system, economy, media, education, culture, literature and art. Even the idea of sales taxes is found in the book. The idea of a global Jewish government has been in process since the early 1990s. The U.S. is controlling the world in the name of the new global order for the interest of the Jews. The only thing remaining is the establishment of a global Jewish government explicitly.”[43]

Kuwaiti historian Mohanna Al-Mohanna said in a September 30, 2013 show that was posted on YouTube on February 23, 2022: “When we compare between the evidence presented by those who consider the Protocols fabricated and the evidence of those who consider them authentic, we will find the evidence presented by the latter stronger.”

In the same show, Al-Mohanna said: “The way the Jews guide their children based upon the teachings of Talmud of disrespecting others, killing them and sucking their blood and applying usury and considering animals more superior than them, this is what makes them hateful people against others… Unfortunately, they are treacherous… There is a well-known verse in the Talmud that says that non-Jews are donkeys created by Allah for the chosen people to ride… Fornication is forbidden [in Judaism] unless it is with a non-Jew, usury is forbidden unless against a non-Jew, and bribery also… This is a weird religion.”[44]

In a video posted to YouTube on November 19, 2014, Dr. Baha Al-Amir, an Egyptian Islamist “expert” on Jews and Freemasonry, said that there are two “hypotheses” regarding the origin of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. He explained that according to the first “hypothesis”, the Protocols were written by an individual Jew who was familiar with the Jews’ general goals, and according to the second theory, the Protocols were fabricated by a non-Jew very familiar with the Torah and its secrets, goals, plans, and tools in order to justify the persecution of the Jews. He elaborated that this non-Jewish author would have been familiar with Jewish history “in the same manner that the author of the Torah was.” He added: “Whoever [wrote the Protocols] must have studied the Torah and thought of himself as a Jew with a Jewish mentality.”[45]

In a video shared on YouTube on July 28, 2016, Egyptian author and researcher Mohammad Issa Daoud argued that the Protocols are authentic. He elaborated: When we read the text of these 24 protocols, you will find words that are only used by Jews, such as ‘Adonai’, which means ‘the Lord,’ and ‘goyim’, which means ‘non-Jews.’ In the Talmudic expression, ‘goy’ is the singular form of ‘goyim’, meaning ‘non-Jews’… In Hebrew, one word can have multiple meanings – ‘goy’ means non-Jew, and it can also mean ‘stinky corpse’, so non-Jews are impure…”[46]

In response to claims that the Protocols are fabricated, Daoud said: “[It has been] forgotten that there is something called the Talmud, and something else called the Torah, and when we compare these two, we would reach a conclusion proving that the Protocols were written by Jews… “[If you] read and specialize in Jewish literature, and if [you] read the Talmud, [you] will discover that the Talmud is more sacred and superior to the Torah, and all the rabbis have unanimously agreed on this… The Talmud is the source of the Protocols.” Daoud further claimed that there are many Jews who have acknowledged that Protocols were authentic.

In a February 22, 2023, show on the Arabic-language Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Channel 9 (Turkey) Mahmoud Salem, an Egyptian researcher of history and civilization through the lens of Islamic law, said that the authenticity of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is denied in an “extremely violent” manner by the Jews. He said that those who discuss the Protocols have their social media accounts shut down, and that even Wikipedia falsely claims that the Protocols are a forgery. Salem explained that the Protocols were minutes from meetings held by rabbis in France in which they discussed plans for the “globalization of religion,” and he said that they were published in Russia by a French woman who had obtained them.[47]

On February 16, 2023, Professor Jac Ana wrote on his Facebook page: “[I say] to those who are endorsing and praising the relationship between Morocco and the Zionist entity: the Zionist don’t care about Morocco’s interests. They spread strife wherever they go. They see other nations as donkeys that were created for them to ride on their backs and they see themselves as the chosen people as they claim. Look into their book The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.”[48]

At a book signing event shared on YouTube on July 5, 2021, Egyptian writer and director Adil Adeeb argued that there is a plot to deprive Egypt of water from the Nile River and that this plot predates the building of the Renaissance Dam in Ethiopia, and he recommended that people read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion to have a better understanding of the situation. He said: “Read history… When you read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion you will have a better understanding on how this plot was originated… You will understand why Israel is so strong and why no one can stand against it.”[49]

Celebrities, Influencers, and TV Hosts

Celebrities and personalities promoting the Protocols ran the gamut of ideology and politics and ranged from figures in the arts and sports journalism to “talking heads”on state-run media to opposition Islamist channels.  

On October 10, 2019, prominent Egyptian poet and songwriter Amir Teima, who has over 500,000 followers on Twitter and is described as “one of the most popular lyricists in the Arab World”, tweeted: “Even if Israel found Aladdin’s magic lamp, it would not have accomplished its wishes in the Middle East in this fashion. A Question: How many Arabs and Muslims were killed by Arabs and Muslims compared to those killed by the Zionists? The Protocols of Zion are succeeding excellently.”[50]

In a January 23, 2009 show on state-run TeleLiban TV (Lebanon), prominent TV host Rabi’a Zayyat said: “If we consider the past of this plundering, aggressive, and bloodthirsty entity, we see its conceptual and ideological history, beginning with the falsification of the Torah and the Talmud, and ending with The Protocols of the Elders of Zion – these abominable, bloodthirsty instructions… We all know that at the basis of the Zionist movement and ideology lies the concept of ‘We are the Chosen People, and all the others are goyim.’ This is a term in Hebrew which means Gentiles, or foreigners. They view all the Arabs as insects, which must be annihilated. They have a saying that goes: ‘A good Arab is a dead Arab.”[51]

On a March 22, 2012 show on Al-Nas TV (Egypt), TV host Hussam ‘Aql said: “Whoever does not believe me can look at The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. This is no book of poetry or stories. The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is a matter of undisputable science.”[52]

Egyptian TV host Maged Abdallah said in an April 28, 2020, show on Elsharq TV (Turkey-Based Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood) that Egyptian cinema was founded by Jews and that the majority of Egyptian actors and film crews consisted of Jews. He elaborated that in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, the Jews laid out their plan to take over the world and gain control of people’s minds by means of the media and the press. He said that it was thus “only natural” for the Jews to take control of the cinema and he claimed that cinema, soccer, the press, casinos, night clubs, and global advertising agencies are all run and owned by Jews.[53]

During the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, a caricature circulated among Arab social media users citing the 17 Protocol and depicting a soccer ball as a pacifier for adults. Some of the accounts that shared this caricature had as many as 40,000 followers.[54] [55] [56] [57].

On March 6, 2022, the YouTube channel of El-Eman TV (Houthis-Yemen) published a video titled “Israel, Christian Zionism, and hostility towards Muslims,” in which Yemeni activist Usama Al-Mahatwari said that “as it was mentioned in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and in the Talmud and so on, they think that Allah created others in their image in order to serve them. They call non-Jews goyim, or something like that.”[58]

In June 2020, Twitter user Karim Said, the editor-in-chief of the Middle East sports website Yallakora.com, tweeted to his 1.2 million followers 24 pages from an Arabic version of the Protocols.[59]

In a December 13, 2022 YouTube video titled “The Plot to Distract the Nations With Soccer Has Succeeded,” Moroccan YouTuber Abd Al-Salam Amzir said that the Protocols call for distracting the nations of the world sports and entertainment.”[60]

Iraqi YouTuber Hashim Al-Mukhtar said in a video posted on October 28, 2020: “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion might be a trick, a fabrication, and a myth as some claim, but let us think a little bit. Aren’t all the things that are happening today mentioned in the Protocols? Isn’t the plot going according to the way they planned it? Aren’t the Zionists – I wouldn’t say the Jews – seeking to control the world? Aren’t their plans for a great state of Israel? Aren’t their abnormal views applied on our governments and nations? Aren’t they occupying lands that they have no rights to? Aren’t they enemies to the Arabs?”[61]

On August 14, 2020, Egyptian motivational speaker Hossam Mohamed shared several videos on his Facebook page titled “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The Jews’ conspiracy to control the world.” Introducing his series, Mohamed stressed that his intention is to spread awareness “about things that I came across by accident and I feel that it is a message from Allah that I should deliver to people.”

Describing the Protocols, he said: “This is a hellish plot or a conspiracy orchestrated by the Jews led by Herzl, the founder of the state of Israel, to control the world, because they believe in things that other people don’t believe in… The Jews believe that controlling the world is a secret sematic message known only to an elite group of Jews because they believe that they are the chosen people… They believe that they are the ones who should rule the world because they are the owners of publishing houses, the press, the media, theaters and cinemas, night clubs, universities, giant companies, companies in the public sectors and brand names, so they are the most powerful in the world and they should rule the world.”[62]

On December 23, 2022, Egyptian YouTuber Ahmed Hesham posted on his Facebook page a video titled “The Zionist Virus Has Spread.” In the video, Hesham said: “A book named The Protocols of the Elders of Zion includes 24 protocols almost all of which have been implemented in the world. Our brains have been infiltrated and Zionist viruses have been planted inside them.”

Describing the protocols, Hesham added that “in the past, they used to be merely words, but now they are facts. The Protocols of the Elders of Zion means a group of ideas and plots which were discussed at meeting and hearings attended by all the Jews of the world.”[63]

TikTok user Serryfiles, who has over 20,000 followers, published a post titled “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” on May 27, 2022, hinting that the Protocols are behind the world’s economic crisis. The post includes a quote from the Protocols in which “the elders of Zion” vowed to create economic crisis around the world using their control over the gold reserve.[64]

A similar post was published on April 16, 2022 by TikTok user Stories_oddity, who has over 9,000 followers. Stories_oddity listed “The Protocols of the Elders of Zions”as one of “the seven most dangerous books in history”. Describing the book, Stories_oddity wrote: “This book includes plots and reports which allow Jews to control the world. These plots and reports rely on wars and destruction of countries to achieve that goal.”[65]

Lebanese singer Majida El Roumi, a Melkite Catholic Christian,[66] said at an event at the Beirut Arab University which was aired on the Lebanese Aghani TV channel on May 16, 2016, and shared on YouTube on November 30, 2019, she said: “If you ask yourself what is going, and why we are subjected to all this worldwide, especially in the Arab world… What’s going on? Personally – and I take full responsibility for what I am saying – I always believe that it is connected with something I read at my parents’ home when I was little. My late father [note: Halim El Roumi, who was head of Radio Lebanon and discovered the singer Fairouz] brought home The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and said to us: ‘Read this book, and to the day you die, never forget what you’ve read.’ So, I read that global Zionism has a plan to fragment the Arab world in its entirety. They have in their heads a plan for a united government for the entire world, and they believe that we all exist on this planet to serve them. This notion is constantly in their heads: the kind of fragmentation of land that you see in various places, bullets flying in one place, rockets in another, bombings in France and elsewhere… This is the way I see it. There are certainly people among us who collaborate with them, because there are always traitors. But I have a clear image in my head: the fragmentation of the Arab world… There is something called ‘Greater Israel,’ which appears on their currency. They still haven’t demarcated their borders, and they consider their country to stretch from the Nile to the Euphrates. They believe that God gave them the right to be our masters. This is what I read in my parents’ home.”[67]

Accusing Hollywood of plotting to destabilize Arab countries and transform them into areas of vital importance for the Zionists, Egyptian TV host Muhammad Moussa said in a video which was shared on Facebook on September 16, 2022: “I am not making things up. What I said has been mentioned in the book The Protocols of the Elders of Zion… This was mentioned in the first Protocol which focuses on dismantling the political systems which is the state and transforming it into a non-state. What is happening to the Egyptian drama through some current and old drama series [is] part of the fourth and fifth generation warfare. Those of you who have read the book The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and particularly the part that focused on art and literature, will find that Protocol 14 calls for the promotion of perverted types of arts and discarding creative humane art works using modern tactics and actions and loud music and cheap sex and disrespecting the body.”[68]

Government Officials and Political Figures

Secularist, Islamist, nationalist, and Christian officials from Arab regimes or parties connected to Iran, Syria but also to U.S. allies Egypt and Qatar all express their knowledge of and trust in the Protocols.

Former PLO ambassador to Vienna Ghazi Hussein said in a June 21, 2006 interview on Al-Jadeed TV (Lebanon): “Judaism divides the world into Jews and non-Jews. Judaism is hostile towards Christianity and Islam. In accordance with the resolution of the Zionist Congress conventions, including the secret resolutions of the first Zionist Congress, which some call ‘The Protocols of the Elders of Zion,’ they want to spread internal strife in all countries, and to generate disorder and unrest, so that ultimately, they will rule the world.”[69]

Former Lebanese MP Ghassan Matar, a Christian and figure in the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) said in a January 19, 2009 show on NBN TV (Lebanon): “Let’s examine The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. They believe that they were created in order to purify the world. These are their concepts. The rest of the world – 3, 4, 5 billion people – are at their best when they are being killed.”[70]

Hamas’s Deputy Minister of Religious Endowment Saleh Riqab said in a May 14, 2008 show on Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas-Gaza): “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which are a product of the 1897 Basel Congress, discuss how the Jews should seize control of the world. In Europe, and especially in the U.S., there was a quick Jewish takeover of the major mass media, because in the West, the mass media shapes their mentality and their views. They don’t read very much, they just listen.”[71]

On April 16, 2017, Fatah spokesman Osama Qawasmeh said told Palestine TV: “The second article of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion states that extremist religious movements must be created. These movements must completely oppose the ruling regime, regardless of its nature- whether it is pan-Arab, Arab nationalist, secular, Communist or Marxist. The purpose of this is to change the priorities of the regimes targeted by the Zionists, so that instead of dealing with health, with education, with social affairs, and obtaining weapons to fight the enemy, the regimes would be busy with internal conflicts.”[72]

Muhammad Mohi, the spokesman of the pro-Iranian Iraqi Kataeb Hezbollah militia, said in a May 5, 2021 show on pro-Iranian Etejah TV (Iraq): “Check out The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. You will find there the entire plan for everything that is going on today in the region and the world, in order to reach the goal of Greater Israel that would dominate not only this region, but the entire world. Today, the U.S., that superpower, shows leniency and agrees to return to the JCPOA, but the Zionists and the Jews are up in arms, and they impose their opinion on the U.S. in order to prevent this. So far, the American opposition to this has not come from within as much as it has been Jewish opposition because they want to control all the resources in the U.S. and in the world.”[73]

On August 17, 2013, Al-Jazeera pundit and former Muslim Brotherhood official Gamal Nassar said: “This is a Zionist plot, and I am willing to be held responsible for what I say. Whoever reads The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and the writings of [the Jews], including those who were writing in the U.S., realizes that this plot was premeditated.”[74]

On an April 9, 2008 show on Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas-Gaza), Hamas Culture Minister Atallah Abu Al-Subh said: “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is the faith that every Jew harbors in his heart.”[75]

In a January 10, 2014, interview on the Egyptian Sada Al-Balad TV, former Egyptian housing minister and governor Hasaballah El Kafrawy, who served in high-ranking positions in the Nasser, Sadat and Mubarak regimes, said that he had read “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion“and believes that the Jews “rule the world.”[76]

On April 4, 2016, senior Palestinian economist Dr. Fouad Bseiso, who served as the first governor of the Palestinian Monetary Authority in 1994-2001 said in an interview with Al-Quds TV that global Judaism is responsible for the global financial crisis of 2008. Dr. Bseiso added that “what was written in the fourth protocol of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is now being implemented.” He said that the Jews control the prices of commodities like oil, silver, and gold and that over 30% of Israel’s income comes from its plundering of Arab countries. “Global Judaism,” he said, “constitutes a virus and plague which strikes at the entire world.”[77]

On February 11, 2020, Al-Jazeera Network (Qatar) hosted a debate about Israel and the Arab countries in which Sati’ Muhammad Al-Hajj, the Political Secretary of the Nasserist Unionist Party of Sudan, said that Israel’s goal to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates is not a myth because it is clearly mentioned in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.[78]

General (Ret.) Mahmoud Khalifa, the military advisor to the Secretary-General of the Arab League, said in a June 29, 2020, interview on pro-government Mehwar TV (Egypt) that the Arabs must arm and strengthen themselves as long as Israel exists “because it wants to devour Arab lands and expand.”He explained that The Protocols of the Elders of Zion says that Israel wants to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates, to make it all Jewish land, and to gather all the Jews there before expanding further.[79]

On August 21, 2022, Bassam Al-Agha of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s “Al-Quds”Trade Union in Syria suggested that The Protocols of the Elders of Zion should be part of Arab school curricula and that Arab students should learn about the “goals and the danger of the Jews and about “how the Jews think”. He said: “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion that was published by global Zionism, and which showed the world the goals and danger of the Jews and how they view humanity and the world — why isn’t this book incorporated into the curriculum and taught to students, so that Arab students know how the Jews think?”[80]

On November 13, 2021, Saudi economist Dr. Abd Al-Rahman Al-Rashid, who has previously been employed by the International Monetary Fund and the Saudi Ministry of Finance, tweeted: “If you read the books The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, Pawns in the Game, and The Secret World Government, you would not only not be surprised about what is happening in the world. You would be surprised that what is happening in the world would look as if you were watching a movie. This issue is very weird.”[81]

On December 25, 2021, the pro-regime Egyptian TV channel Sada El-Balad aired an interview with security expert and former Egyptian Brigadier General Hisham Bilal in which he claimed that the Muslim Brotherhood is the product of the plots described in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. He said that the Muslim Brotherhood’s attacks against Jewish targets is meant to distract from the fact that “one of the main principles of international Zionism is to undermine the Abrahamic religions from within.”[82]

In a video that was shared on YouTube on June 10, 2020, Egyptian writer and political analyst, another former Egyptian Brigadier General, Muhammad Samir[83] called on people to read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion saying: “I call on young people and on all people to [read the book]… There are some important things that if we read them well, we would understand how this game is played such as the global Zionism. The Protocols of the Elders of Zion explained in detail everything that is happening right now.”

Egyptian author and politician Dr. Gamal Youssef wrote on his Facebook account on January 31, 2022: “It might be a very important beginning to understand a lot about what happens among us domestically and it also includes an interpretation of many global events.”[84] In the same post, Youssef shared an earlier post from March 20, 2019 in which he had described The Protocols of the Elders of Zion as “one of the most important books that any intellectual young man or political researcher should take a look at and study carefully as it is a key to understanding many of the complications of global politics.”[85] Youssef had been a parliamentary candidate for the “moderate Islamist”Al-Wasat Party.

Television Programs and Traditional Media Outlets

Protocol promoters in broadcast and print media outlets are also equally diverse in their origin and orientation, some are connected to the state while others are independent of it.  Some believe that the Protocols are real while others argue that it doesn’t matter if they are, as current events mirror the work, whether or not it is spurious.

On April 2, 2017, the Jordanian Prime TV channel broadcast a three-part series on “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion“, moderated by Prime TV and Dyar Media General Director Ayed Alqam, who is also a film director and actor. In the series, Alqam said that the Jews are “an ostracized and abhorred people”, well known “for their lying, fraud, and deception, and their sowing of strife.”Alqam cited the Protocols as saying: “We are the world’s masters and corrupters. We are behind all the strife in it, and we are its executioners too.”[86]

In December 2003, the manuscripts museum at the Alexandria Library exhibited an Arabic translation of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion in its showcase of holy books of the monotheistic religions, placing it alongside the Torah.[87] Commenting on this incident, the editor of the Egyptian weekly Al-Qahira, Sallah ‘Issa, wrote in the independent Egyptian weekly Nahdhat Misr a criticism of the dissemination of antisemitic ideas in the Egyptian media. The following are excerpts from his article:[88]

“Some weeks ago, the Alexandria Library displayed the Arabic translation of The Protocols of the Elders of‘ Zion in a showcase next to holy books acquired by the library’s manuscripts department. No one might even have noticed, had it not been for one alert journalist of the kind addicted to seeking out fictitious gimmicks. He found it unacceptable that this act in the noble struggle to liberate Palestine from the river to the sea would pass without emphasizing the role of those who are behind it.”

“He [the journalist] interviewed the director of the library’s manuscript department, and [the latter] announced with pride that the library was proud of its acquisition of this book [i.e. The Protocols] and that it had worked diligently to exhibit it because it was one of the books that are sacred to the Jews, and that he personally thinks that what appears in the book regarding the Jewish plot to control the world is 100% true.”

“No sooner was the interview published than the Zionist organizations active in the West embraced it as proof that the Alexandria Library was an antisemitic institution. They demanded that the European Union, the [various] governments, and the international organizations that participated in funding the establishment of the library and still participate in directing it and supporting its activities, stop [all] this, because the library was disseminating racist ideas and a culture of hatred…”

“The newspapers that highlighted this stupid event [could have] refrained from shaming the library and from giving the Zionists and their allies an opportunity to accuse us of antisemitism and racism. But instead, they hastened to attack the administration of the library, which capitulated following Zionist pressure, [and removed the book from the case]; [the newspapers then] pointed out that everything in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion was 100% true.”

“This is not the first political dead end to which some ideological circles and journalistic schools of thought have led us. [These circles] believe in exploiting the ignorance prevailing in society, such that unifying the Arab public is an end that sanctifies the use of every weapon – legal and illegal – to arouse the enthusiasm of this public.

“[These circles] try to present the Middle East conflict as a religious conflict between Jews and Islam [that has existed] since the conspiracy by the Banu Qurayza and the Banu Qaynuqa’[89] and the other Jews of Al-Madina against the Prophet Muhammad. [These circles] disseminate the idea that the battle for the liberation of Palestine is the continuation of the battle of Khaybar.[90]

“[These circles] do not flinch from disseminating, espousing, and publishing all the legends that were common in medieval Europe in order to justify Europe’s persecution of the Jews because of their monopoly in financial activity and money-lending, one of which was the ‘matzoh of blood’ that the Jews [allegedly] prepare on Passover from the blood of a gentile child. These circles disseminate among Muslims the perception that all the modern Jews are the offspring of the Jews who violated the word of the Prophet Moses, whose prayer Allah then answered and turned [the Jews] into apes and pigs. [These circles also say] that the Jews are responsible for their forefathers’ crime, the crucifixion of Jesus. They embraced, and still warmly embrace, the stupid book ‘The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, ‘fabricated by the advocates of the Tsarist tyranny in Russia to arouse hatred of the Jews because many of them were participating in revolutionary activity against the [Tsarist] empire.”

“The problem is that these ideas cannot withstand any rational discussion. Furthermore, the logic on which these ideas are based is likely to lead us to a dead end, which in any case will place us – and not the Zionists – in the prisoner’s dock.

“It is pointless to thus confirm to the world the correctness of the false accusations disseminated by the European fanatics, i.e., that our Islam calls us to hate members of the other monotheistic religions and incites us to take vengeance on them for the wars and battles that took place 15 centuries ago.

“It is not very smart to espouse the lies spread in the wave of persecution of the Jews in medieval Europe, when we – the Arabs and the Muslims – had no part in this, and when the perpetrators [of these lies and persecution] themselves today condemn them and apologize for them.

“It is not very smart at all to espouse a book such as The Protocols of the Elders of Zion that attributes to the Jews the honor of being the ones to plan the French Revolution, wave the mottoes of liberty, brotherhood, and equality, spur workers to establish trade unions, support political and ideological pluralism, and stand behind all revolutionary movements throughout history.”

“What is certain is that there is no connection between the Zionists who occupied and are occupying Palestine and the rest of the Arab lands and the Jews of Khaybar, the Banu Qurayza and the Banu Qaynuqa’ – [and if there is any] it is the same as the connection between the modern Muslims and their ancestors who invaded parts of Asia, Africa, and Europe in the Middle Ages.

“If the Jews of today are responsible for what their forefathers did, then we, the Muslims [of today] are responsible for all the wars waged by our forefathers on all the continents, and the residents [of those continents] are permitted to fight us in order to avenge their defeat in those ancient wars.”[91]

Addressing the viral spread of the Protocols in the west as well as in the Arab world, Jordanian writer Ibrahim Gharaybah wrote an article, published by the Jordan daily Al-Ghad on July 25, 2011, titled “The Jewish Protocols and the Holocaust are Western Not Arabic Projects.” In it, he argued that “the popularity of the Protocols is perhaps meant to explain the expansion of colonialism which had come to the Arab world and brought the Jews with it and to also explain the defeats that the Arabs endured by Jewish groups… Or to explain the contradictory and irrational behavior of the democratic and rational West.”[92]

On December 3, 2009, Watan.com, a U.S.-based online newspaper republished an article titled “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion: Was It Jewish Or Not?”in which writer Moustafa Enchasi downplayed the importance of whether the Protocols were authored by Jews or not. He wrote: “Regardless of whether these Protocols are facts or fiction, authored by Jews or not, reality could attest almost identically on the similarities between its events and the content of the Protocols.”

“Reality could attest that the events that are taking place in the world, especially in the Arab and Muslim world are similar to a great degree to the content of the Protocols. Regardless of our conviction or whether we believe in the existence of a conspiracy against Islam and Muslims, we can see and be certain that a conspiracy exist and denying it means denying a great deal of the truth and reality because we believe in the theory of conflict which was confirmed in the Quran as part of the divine law in the world and in the relationships between mankind… Misguided human beings continued challenging the nature which Allah has made available to serve mankind and benefit them and they spoiled all the beautiful things in the world… The parties in any conflict would use all the weapons they could use to win and these weapons vary between legal and illegal weapons. The ideology, goals and objectives can define the type of weapons that could be used in a battle. Within the context of conflict and battles, conspiracies can be part of the weapons which could determines which party would win and the Quran confirms the theory of conflict between mankind, nations, people and different religions. “The writer then discussed “the danger of distributing the Protocols” amongst the youth who are not “well prepared, did not receive mindful education and with unrefined culture and ideology.”

Elaborating on his argument, the writer claimed that “those with weak and sick souls… could use the Protocols as a weapon to demoralize the will of the ummah and its youth, weaken their ability to confront, respond or remain committed to their values and the principles of their religion and society because when the youth read these Protocols and follow up with many questions, the Protocols would become significantly deadly weapons to destroy the Youth’s psychological power, their determination and their willingness to confront the enemies. Here are examples of these questions: What can we do as you can see in the Protocols that the Jews are controlling the world and leading it as they please?”

“This is why we read that when the Protocols first appeared and the Jews were accused of being behind them, they would deny the accusation and whenever the Protocols were published and distributed, the copies would be stolen from bookstores. But now, we can find them everywhere including with book vendors in the streets. The Jews and their supporters … intended to promote the Protocols and distribute them amongst the youth to weaken them, destroy their morale, destroy their soul and ability to bring about change and reform and push them towards the submission to this reality which they believe that they don’t have the ability to confront and change. A simple example that we can see today would be the Zionist enemy.”

“Arab nations have unanimously declared that the Zionist entity has become a reality that can’t be removed and should be recognized. They have established political, trade and other relations with it in varying degrees and some have signed peace agreements with it. Others promote that the Jews control the west and the U.S. and are in charge of the decision-making in the U.S. and the U.S. is the only superpower in the world that no one can challenge or say No to, and therefore, we should submit, accept the demands imposed on us and make what our resources and capabilities available so that it would be pleased of us and it would achieve its goals even if they meant annihilating and mutilating us. Isn’t this what has been promoted today? This means that the Ummah should accept reality and submit to its destiny. What if the sons of the Ummah believed that the Jews control our lives from the leaders they appoint to the food that we eat in our houses? Believing so and this reality would give the Jews more power, arrogance, tyranny and might as we see happening in Palestine today.”

“They defy the entire world and its decisions and don’t care about them and they intensify their brutal crimes against civilians and innocent people while relying on the Protocols, whether they invented it or not, they have achieved their goals in the world and they are using the Protocols to terrorize nations and people and subjugating them and they would not miss any opportunity to achieve the dream of taking control over the world which they were promised in the Torah. This means that the publication of these Protocols … would allow the Jew to accomplish their goal.”

Under the subtitle “The Protocols Would Have No Impact With a Strong Creed,”the writer stressed the importance for Muslims to understand the divine laws, be aware of the eternal conflict between good and evil and be prepared mentally, physically and spiritually to defeat the enemies of Islam. He also waned of the danger posed by those who follow their desires and side with and support the enemies.

He wrote: “This is the perspective that Allah’s set up for communities regardless of the existence of the Protocols, enemies or not … the Islamic Ummah is surrounded by enemies ready to attack at any time and because it represents goodness on earth, Allah gave it a rule for preparation so it wouldn’t be infiltrated … it was mentioned in Quran 8:60 (Prepare against them what you believers can of military power and cavalry to deter Allah’s enemies and your enemies as well as other enemies unknown to you but known to Allah) and even if the Prophet defined power as archery, it would not exclude the comprehensive and general meaning of power that Muslim communities should adhere to starting from having a strong faith, to weaponry, readiness, training, the psychological and morale condition .. so that the enemies of Allah would be terrorized … we should be focusing on building a strong society that the enemies of the Ummah would not be able to infiltrate or recruit anyone in it and they can make their Protocols however they want but they would never be able to do or achieve anything in our society.”

“But if we are occupied by whether these Protocols were real or fabricated, were authored by Jews or others, we would not be able to get out from this state of psychological defeat, weakness and humiliation which we are experiencing … we want generations that only understand that no force on the face of earth can defeat us if we focused on acquiring the real means of power and the real means of power exist in our creed, our reliance on Allah, aspiration for the hereafter … therefore, we should not overestimate the Protocols, be alert about the danger behind promoting the Jews with these Protocols and presenting them as corrupter of the world who control the U.S. when the truth lies amongst ourselves and our ability to reform or be corrupted and the solution would be in immunizing our communities with strong faith upon which we raise the future generations.”[93]

On December 24, 2002, the Saudi weekly magazine Al-Jazirah published a report titled “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, Fact or Fiction?”According to the report, “no one has managed to present evidence to confirm or deny the authenticity of the book.”The report then cited Dr. Ibrahim Al-Bahrawi, an Egyptian professor of Hebrew language at Ain Shams University as saying that “there is not a single piece of evidence proving that the Protocols were written by Jew or Rabbis. The Protocols are fictional invention attributed to Tsarist Russia of the early twentieth century between 1902 and 1905. The security apparatus during the time of Tsar Nicholas II oppressed the Jews and it was behind the distribution of the book and its publication widely in accordance with the Tsar view of the Jews during that time. Many of the ideas that were mentioned in this fictional book which scholars failed to identify its author, resemble the facts embodied by Zionism on the land of Palestine since the mid-19 century to date by applying violence, extremism, seizing of territories and building of settlements.”

Al-Bahrawi further added that “there are some who firmly attribute the book to the Jews and there some who reject its attribution to Rabbis but I personally don’t have evidence proving that the Protocols were written by Jews and I believe referring to the Protocols to expose the Zionist movement would be wrong and Israel would be the only one that benefit from this controversy as it would use it to stoke hostility against Islam and Muslims … there is no proof behind the attribution of the book to the Jews and the Zionists and most likely it was written by the Russian secret police during the time of Tsar in the early 20 century to address an internal issue about the Tsar’s government position from the Russian Jews.”

Dr. Al-Sayyed Al-Sarwi, a professor of Hebrew studies, expressed a completely different view about the Protocols. According to the report, Al-Sarwi “believes that The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is a Jewish book which explains the idea of Zionism and how to take control over the world through the economy, the media, terrorism, violence, expansion policy and occupation of territories” and he argues that Israel’s policy since before its founding in 1948 up to now are typical to the content of the book and Israel and the Zionist movement are moving in that direction and implementing everything that was mentioned in the Protocols. There are also many expressions that were included in the book iterated by Israeli leader such as Nahum Goldmann and Shimon Shamir and the later refuses to return even one inch of the occupied territories and call them liberated territories.

Al-Sarwi adds that “another proof is that the dominance of both Israel and the Zionist movement over the economy and the media is similar to what has been mentioned in the book. If we read the book The Jewish State, authored by Theodor Herzl, the leader of the Zionist project since its inception, we will find the same methodology as it talks about expansion and the mobilization of the west to take over Palestine and establish Israel which is, according to him, the center of modernity in the midst of Arab backwardness.  With regard to attributing the Protocols to Tsarist Russia, it was promoted because of the oppression the Jews had experienced in Tsarist Russia and they caused that by seeking to dominate over the Russian society by using the economy and stoking political strife to the extent that some had thoughts about founding a Jewish state on a land in Russia. That was when Tsar Nicholas II responded extremely violently and started massacring them and these massacres were called the southern storms because the Jews were concentrated in the south of Russia. Now, Zionists are distancing themselves from the Protocols as they have always been avoiding the facts that expose them.”

Expressing her views on the Protocols, Dr. Amal Rabi’, a professor of Hebrew literature at Cairo University, said: “The fact that presents itself in front of us is that the characteristic of Jews [in the Protocols] have features related to what has been mentioned in the Old Testament (the Talmud) and Jews have been brought up on the teachings of their ancient book and they have long-term visions as they plan for the future in a way that make them dominant over the entire world. The Jews describe non-Jews as Goyim according to Judaism and Gad has created us to be servants for the Jews who are the highest level of human being and they are the chosen people, and therefore, they should rule over the world from the east to the west as God has given them the brilliance to be able to do so.”

According to her, “the Jews, led by their elders, have set up a plot to take control over the world. The Protocols envisioned a policy for the entire world and non-Jewish rulers would be treated as merely tools to accomplish their desires and that’s what we currently see in the Jews dominance over the global economy or rather on everything including all media outlets, theaters, cinemas and others.”

The report concluded with the views of Dr. Muhammad Idris, a professor of Oriental and Hebrew studies who stressed that “No one has been able to prove the authenticity of the Protocols. The Jews reject the Protocols and say that they were fabricated, but based on the events we witness these days, the Jews control over the Global economy, WWI, WWII, the founding of Israel and the rulers who conspire against their people in third world countries, all of that proves that the Protocols have actually been implemented and on little is left for the founding of the Jewish state and for the Jew to rule the world. Most likely, these Protocols were the constitution which was written by Jewish wisemen so that the Jews would be gathered up from all over the world and this is what happened in Palestine, and to form a global secret government that rules secretly and that explains the siding of world countries with Israel and against the right of the Palestinians.”

Idris also added that “a man such as the Jewish Henry Ford [note: Henry Ford was not Jewish but rather a famous antisemite] when asked about the authenticity of the Protocols, he evaded the question and said what would be my comment about the Protocols which is that these Protocols have predicted exactly what is happening today and they are similar to all the changes and global situations which are taking place today.”[94]

On February 13, 2022, the Iraqi website Sotaliraq.com published an article titled “Zionists and the Agenda to Spread Vice in the Middle East”, in which writer As’ad Abdallah Abd Ali accuses the Zionists of planning to spread homosexuality in the Arab world. Abd Ali wrote: “Despite the Zionists’ attempts to hide their objectives, they were leaked under the name The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which were the outcomes of Basel conference that took place in Switzerland in 1897 and that was attended by prominent Jewish figures led by Theodor Herzl… The protocols include: Violence is the basis.”[95]

On December 2, 2022, the Lebanese website Alshiraa.com published an article titled “The Dimensions of the Conspiracy To Promote Homosexuality, Deviance, and the Targeting of Values,”in which writer Erfan Imad Al-Din accused Israel and Zionism of leading the campaign to spread homosexuality in the Arab and Muslim worlds.

He wrote: “When we call these campaigns and attacks a vicious conspiracy, we are relying on solid documents and clear positions and practices that confirms beyond doubt the existence of Satanic, Israeli and Zionist groups [whose] major goal which is dominating the world… Here I am referring to documents and verified information that confirms the details of this conspiracy… [This includes] a book titled The Protocols of the Elders of Zion… Within a century, we have witnessed the implementation of the main points which had been uncovered.”[96]

In an article titled “So That We Don’t Forget Their Perspective: A Brief Reading In The Protocols of the Elders of Zion“published on October 5, 2020 on the Jordanian weekly Al-Majd, writer Dr. Ghazi Hussain described the Protocols as “the blueprint of influential Jews in politics, economy, industry, religion and secret organizations.”

In the article, Hussain described how the Jews purportedly exert pressure on world leaders, spread corruption and vice, and control the media. He wrote: “The global Jews’ plot is to seize all the main resources of the world for the interest of the Jews and the Jewish state. This is why they have declared war against Arabs and Islam using their control over presidents of the United States through wealth, media, women (Monica Lewinsky with Bill Clinton and Mathilde Krim with Lyndon Johnson) deception, lies and the Nazi Holocaust to reach their goal. The protocols instruct that people should be treated like despicable animals. All non-Jews including leaders are chess pieces in the hand of the Jews that facilitate their inducement and enslavement with intimidation, wealth, corruption and positions.”

“The Protocols states that all publishing houses, the press, schools, universities, theaters and cinema companies should be under the control of the Jews. What has been monopolized by the Jews are the most powerful weapons to inciting public opinions and corrupting those with conscious, ending nationalism, religions, family system, spreading corruption, vice and immorality to exhaust non-Jewish nations. Zionism has been mobilizing the Jews all over the world to hate non-Jews. To succeed in achieving its goal, it claims that non-Jews are hostile towards the Jews; therefore, it encourages them to destroy the world and rearrange it in a way that serves in imposing the hegemony of the Jews over it. To achieve that goal, it uses all means such as pressuring, blackmailing, using the Holocaust, money, sex and even violence and assassination, wars and stoking sectarianism and religious and racial tensions. We witness Israel’s and Israelis’ viciousness in Palestine, the Golan Heights and South of Lebanon every day and we witness the espionage and destructive role played by the Zionist movement in destroying economic and social institutions in Russia and other former Soviet Union’s countries.”

Hussain also added that “the Jews are working on implementing The Protocols of the Elders of Zion to take control over the world, establishing the Zionist project in the Arab world and dedicating all their resources, plans, tricks and lies to achieve that and to return to Khaybar, Medina and to seize Petra. Their conviction in implementing the Zionist project at the expense of lands, rights and Arabian resources encourages them to unite their ranks and postpone their disputes to achieve their goals and dominance over the world and distributes the nation’s resources amongst them. The Jews are igniting wars and conflicts between nations to reach their goals. They were behind the two global wars and behind Israel’s war against Arab countries and the side which benefited the most from wars. They are keen to ignite wars in different region to annihilate non-Jews nations and destroy their wealth. They are cowards and they wouldn’t fight but they stoke the fire of wars and they start wars and massacres and scorched earth policy. They start wars, blockades and sanctions against Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya and Sudan to burn non-Jewish nations … and when the fire of U.S. and European hostility against Arabs and Muslim dies out, they would add more wood to it.”

Hussain continued that “I plan is to ignite aggression wars and they continue plotting so to destroy and dismantle nations, Arab and Islamic countries and all nations of the world to achieve dominance. They ignite wars, sectarian, religious and racial strives to burn Arab and Islamic countries and to boost their victories and gains and bring massive profit to the industrial countries at the expense, pain, wounds and meals of Arab and Islamic nations … they plan for wars and they exhaust the capability of Arab countries and then they would harvest, make and save profits at the expense of Arab nations and the world’s nations and Israel’s wars of aggression and the Gulf war … and seizing lands, water, resources and they destroy their achievement and all of these are clear evidence proving what has been stated in the Protocols. Therefore, it would be impossible to normalize and co-exist with Israel and recognize it and it should be removed and pack its suitcases and return to where it came from which is the land of the Khazars and its demise is inevitable.”[97]

On April 17, 2020, the same Jordanian newspaper published a report titled “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion – The Story of an Evil Alliance Between Zionism and Freemasonry to Take Control Over the World.”

The article reads: “After examining the texts, we found that most of what had been mentioned in the Protocols has been accomplished… At the time of the publishing of the Protocols, the Elders of Zion who should be called the evil gangs and all of them were Zionist Jews from the Rothschild, the Rockefeller, and the Morgan [note: neither the Rockefellers nor Morgans were Jewish]  families held their important meetings in a remote island to take control over the world. The testimony of Catherine Austin Fitts who was an advisor to President Bush the father, a human rights activist and an advisor in the U.S. Department of Justice is absolutely worth listening to many times in this video which has been translated to Arabic.”

After citing several parts of the Protocols, the report concluded that “what has been mentioned in the Zionist protocols are dangerous issues most of which have been accomplished. What has been mentioned proves that the conspiracy of the Zionist and Freemasonry against the world is real as Dr. Henry Makow of Canada stated: The Protocols of the Elders of Zion are the plots of the new global system and they are being implemented in the world. No documents have faced scrutiny as much as The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The Zionists have considered it a conspiracy against the Jews and we know some Jews who have consciousness are challenging what have been mentioned in the Protocols. We mention Noam Chomsky who is of Jewish origin but he is also a scholar in humanism and his thoughts have been mainly humanist not heinous greed. Chomsky is one of the fiercest fighters against the brutality of capitalism represented in new liberalism. It is important to mention that the Talmud praises everything that has been mentioned in the Protocols.”[98]

On February 9, 2020, Qatar’s Aljazeera.net published an article titled “The Protocols of the Elders and The Arab Philosophy to Counter them”in which Gaza-based writer and Palestinian activist Muhammad Abu Ouwaimer suggested that the Arabs should counter the Zionist plots mentioned in the Protocols by forming a “resistance front”with all the parties that challenge the Zionist project from all countries and religions.

In the article, Ouwaimer described the Protocols as “leaked [documents] of topics, ideas, means and tools which the Zionists Jews use to implement their so-called project of taking control not only over Palestine but also on the joints of power in the world, leading to the inauguration of their king whom they link to the ancestor of King David.”

He writes: “Unbiased readers of this book or of other books which discussed the same topic based on the Protocols would find that the protocols are terrifying in terms of the means they seek to apply to achieve the goals of their authors. They are more terrifying when you notice their resemblance to numerous events that have taken places after the emergence of the Protocols as if they were confirming the true intention at least in essence and principles regardless of the details which could be a topic of lengthy unimportant debates and discussions… The authors of the Protocols amongst their elders have paid clear attention to their project, set is as a goal and they worked generations after generations to achieve that goal like children inheriting their father’s properties… This deep belief in the long-term project which had been uncovered in the Basel conference led by Theodor Herzl in 1897. The conference was organized after years of preparation, and it has continued for many years. It is still happening and expanding both politically and on the ground. This belief is surprising and amazing at the same time and if we the Arabs have a tiny bit of this belief in a noble liberating project, under one banner to build one nation, we wouldn’t have reached this level of humiliation, disunity and backwardness in the ranking scale of nations.”

Ouwaimer added that “the Protocols authors have chosen to be the players on the chessboard whereas the Arab leaders chose to be chess pieces as American writer William Guy Carr [actually a Canadian conspiracy theorist] described it in his book. With regard to their means and tools, the Elders of Zion have justified the use of every evil and dirty means if there were to empower their project and bring success to their plots. They would not care about sanctities, respect moral values or abide by any laws … we can also see and notice the great effort invested in creating alliances, infiltrate groups and sponsoring movements based on the Elders desire for dominance and owning the final say when needed. They foster alliances with opposing groups. You can see them in alliance with the Western camp and with the Eastern camp. This trend applies to every opposing group whether one of them or both could be of value in serving their interests in case support is needed, they would be able to secure it easily and you would see opposing groups uniting to serve their agendas.”[99]

On September 5, 2017, the Palestinian news website Maannews.net published an article titled “The Jews, History and Culture,” in which writer Al-Motawakil Taha said that whether the Protocols are authentic or not is irrelevant because the plots they describe have been nonetheless implemented in reality.

Taha wrote: “Are [the Protocols] authentic or fabrication? Are they a part of a conspiracy or were they invented by an intelligence agency or a fanatic group? All that is nonsense. These questions are meaningless despite the huge controversy they evoke. The state of Israel is currently one of the main countries in the world whether we like it or not. It is the sixth country in the Security Council whether we like it or not. I stated that Israel is one of the main countries and I did not want to say that is the leading country to avoid being accused of misreading the highest strategic interests of the U.S.”

“Doesn’t the current state of Israel resemble that state or the World’s government which has been mentioned in the book The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The most pressing question is: Now, after more than 100 years since the publishing of the book The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, how many of the goals, aspirations and prophecies which have been mentioned in the book have been achieved? Was it a coincidence that the book is filled with accurate descriptions? Was it a coincidence that most of the protocols have taken place as described in the book? The historical aspect of the book has less meaning than its reality and impact. There is no longer a need to say that the book was authored by a Jewish group or it was fabricated by the enemies of the Jews. Now, 100 years after the publication of the book, talking about its authenticity would be a form of luxury. Let’s say or assume that the Protocols were not authored by a Jewish group, what would the outcome be? And let’s assume that they were fabricated by the enemies of the Jews, what would the outcome be? Are we in the middle of a well-planned historical conspiracy? Or are we witnessing history speeding towards a pre-detained outcome. Where is the will of mankind then? The Protocols are meaningless whether they are real or fabrication as we see the end result on our skins and on top of our backs in the form of humiliation, settlements, murders, torching and suffering and as we see Israel controls the world, above the law and above accountability. Israel is acting like the governor of the world and this is the outcome which was written by a wiseman or an insane man 100 years ago in that mythical book.”[100]

On July 23, 2012, Hespress, a Moroccan Arabic-language news website, published an article titled “The Ninth Protocols of the Zionists: Destroying Morality and the Deployment of Agents”in which writer Dr. Abd Al-Kareem Al-Qallali argued that the Protocol 9 from The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is being implemented in the Arab and Muslim world in order to spread immorality and vice.

Al-Qallali wrote: “This Zionist plot is still being carried out to date with the same ideas and agents in different forms which suit the developments, the circumstances and the people of every generation. The enemies have learned that their plots and conspiracies have been exposed, therefore, they resorted to employing agents from our own people by all means. Those agents would misguide people using deception under flashy titles like those mentioned in the Protocols such as fraternity, freedom and equality. These terminologies with their distorted concepts and hidden plots have supporters and agents disguised as journalists, analysts and researchers and other titles and Islamic sounding names … these people are being used as agents to spread the ideas of their masters and achieve their goals in fracturing Muslims’ values and morality, casting doubts on their beliefs, undermining their principles under the name of freedom of expression and religious freedom. The means might have changed, but the end goal always remains the same… These agents receive overt and covered protections, financial and morale support from the great force of corruption and the advocate of debauchery and immorality and some idiot Muslims.”[101]

On December 27, 2011, the Lebanese pro-Hezbollah daily Al-Akhbar published an article titled “Today’s Zionists and the Racism of The Elders of Zion”in which writer and Palestinian historian Bayan Nuweihid Al-Hout wrote: “The Protocols are of lesser importance as the leaders of Zionism have surpassed the Protocols in their racism and crimes.”

Elaborating on her argument, Al-Hout wrote: “It is true that no one has managed to prove that the Protocols are authentic, but it is also true that no one has managed to prove that the Protocols are not authentic. One thing that could be held against the Zionists who distance themselves from the Protocols is that they did not subjugate the Protocols to a rigorous scientific analysis conducted by experts to prove the fabrication which they claim had occurred. By doing so, they have made the job of those who believe in the Protocols easier.”

“The Protocols entail all the means to achieve one clear objective which is corrupting human societies economically, socially, in the press and morally as an introduction for the dominance of the chosen people and their rulers from the descendants of David. The Protocols divide people into two groups: The chosen people who are the Jews, and the goyim who are the rest of mankind the non-Jews. Goyim here means animals and this classification has clear root in the Talmud. The 11 Protocol states: the Goyim are a herd of sheep and we are their wolves, and you know what happens to sheep when attacked by wolves. The Protocols don’t include any respect to democracies and constitutions what are considered platforms for chatty people, schools for descent, riots and party quarrels…”Al-Hout adds that “the Elders of Zion use three weapons: cash, the press and violence. Regarding cash, the fifth protocol states: The wheels of all departments need engine, and that engine is in our possession which is gold. With regard to the Press, the second protocol states: the Goyim have not learned how to exploit the press machine, so we seized it and because of newspapers, we have attained the power that could move and influence and we have remained behind the scene. The seventh protocols states: to force governments to do what we want; we use the force known as public opinions whose leash is in our hidden hand that is led by the main force: the press. As for violence, it is mentioned in the first protocol: the best outcome to be achieved by oppressing the Goyim through government would come by force and terror. Our right is based on our might. This evilness is the only tool to achieve the final objective of goodness. Therefore, we should not hesitate to use bribery, deception and treachery… In other words, those who would judge the protocols by the text will find it a fictional play that would be impossible to implement more than a political program. As for those who would judge the spirit of the protocols and its main philosophy, they find it as a copy of the statements made by the leaders of Zionism and their writings of the past and in the future which have gone too far with time surpassed the Protocols themselves and there, the authenticity of the Protocols or their lack thereof loses its relevance.”[102]

On November 14, 2017, the Saudi daily Al-Riyadh published an article titled “The Man Of Protocol Number 12″in which Saudi writer Fahad ‘Amer Al-Ahmadi focuses on American businessman and media proprietor Rupert Murdoch and his media companies around the world.

After describing Murdoch as “a conservative Jew who has become the emperor of the global media and one of the most power figures who control the media,”[note: Murdoch is not Jewish] Al-Ahmadi wrote: “owning all of these media companies has given Murdoch tremendous influence over global opinion centers and made him one of the wealthiest men in the world. He is considered a symbol of the Jewish media which enters every house in local languages and the appropriate culture. He represents the Protocols number 12 from The Protocols of the Elders of Zion which calls for shaping human minds for the interest of the Jewish issues.”[103]

On January 15, 2015, the London-based Qatari-funded daily Al-Arabi Al-Jadid published an article titled “The Myth Of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion“in which writer Saqr Abu Fakhr presented several arguments proving that the Protocols were fabricated.

After recounting the historical facts of the emergence of the Protocols, Fakhr wrote: “Evidently, this narration shows that the story of the protocols is a mix of espionage, intelligence and counterpropaganda. The nationalists in Russia have contributed in giving theses protocols exceptional importance as they believed promoting the protocols would help them in their enmity with the communism, the Freemasonry and the Jews who opposed the Tsar. The book The Great in the Small reflected how disturbed and frightened were the Russian Orthodox during that time. That also clearly shows that the source of the Protocols was the Tsarist secret service in Paris which was under the leadership of Rajkoviski and the people’s union (the Black Hundreds) that secretly printed the Protocols and distributed it publicly. In all cases, sound research in the history of the Protocols found that the Protocols were fabricated by the Tsar intelligence service which leaked it to press and the media using well-structed methods.” The writer then provided six arguments that prove that “the protocols were not a Jewish document at all and they were anti-Jewish Russian documents.”

Abu Fakhr wrote: “1- Since the Protocols were secret documents and rather top-secret, why weren’t they written in Hebrew for example instead of Russian which was highly popular in Europe during the 19 century. 2- There is not a single Hebrew or Yiddish word or any mention of the Old Testament, the Talmud or any of the Jewish books such as Zohar which proves that the writer of the Protocols was a Russian who didn’t know Judaism well. 3- There was no mention of Palestine in the Protocols at all. 4- In its entirety, the Protocols defends aristocracy, autarchy and monarchical succession system and at the same time condemned Catholicism, Jesuitism, liberalism, socialism and Freemasonry and those were the sworn enemies of the Tsar. 5- The Protocols condemns British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli because the ruling Russian elites hated him for his support of the Ottoman empire so that it would remain a barrier against the expansion of the Russian empire. 6- The Protocols condemns the free market economy, constitutions, democracy and elections. These were part of the demands of the Russian opposition following the 1905 revolution. These demands, in addition to Japan’s military defeat could have destabilized the ruling of the Tsar which happened in 1917.”[104]

On November 15, 2021, the Egyptian Almalnews.com website published an article titled “The Protocols of the Wisemen of Uhud”, in which writer Muhammad Bakry presented the arguments of both the supporters and the rejectors of the authenticity of the Protocols, and then suggested that Muslims should have their own Protocols called the “Protocols of the Wisemen Of Uhud.”

In the article, Bakry noted that “the reality about the superiority of the Jews comes from the fact that they value education, donate generously for their causes, their brilliance in forming lobbies and their active participation in shaping the word’s politics. The outcome of all of that is that they have become proficient in guiding and taming the components of the global collective awareness (the education, religion, media and politics) through partners, alliances, benefits seekers and naïve patriotic people who help them, with knowledge or ignorance, guidance or negligence, achieve their goals easily in exchange for a share, benefit, a role or a position.”

Suggesting that Arabs make their own Protocols, Bakry wrote: “We should move on from hostility and stiff positions so that we could examine [the situation] and understand it and create a parallel project that even if it didn’t succeed in stopping the aspiration for dominance, it could at least minimize its impact. One resistance leader in south of Lebanon told Dr. Abdel Wahab El-Messiri during his visit that the turning point for them was when they realized that did not have a supernatural power and they could be defeated. What if we have the Protocols of the wisemen of Uhud. This new terminology was inspired by the lessons learned from the battle of Uhud and how the believers’ faith was tested which had exposed the hypocrites and become a lesson for the others. Allah has detailed that in Surah Al Imran (If a wound touches you, a similar wound already has touched the nation. Such days We alternate between the people so that Allah knows those who believe, and that He will take witnesses from among you, for Allah does not love the harm doers) Quran 3:140.”

Bakry went on and recommended that Arabs and Muslims should have “A. a systematic road map drafted by the real wisemen (not only officials) to develop new curricula, implement and spread them as a positive foundation. B. New specifications for the objectives of education and the knowledge of Arabs and Muslims, not by building new universities and importing knowledge and mold students in them but by establishing a development project to convince future generations about the importance of science, education and knowledge and apply that to create a parallel free and independent world that would allow them a fair existence not politically globalized. C. Separating religion, geography, history and ethnicities from the project of creating and developing knowledge … in a way that allows fair chances for gifted individuals as well as professionals and hard workers to excel in their own way.”

“The Protocols of the wisemen of Uhud is a global wake up call to confront 24 fabricated Protocols whose plots are overshadowing everything in reality and requires a global strategy to balance the people’s interests in the world within the competition over the golden triangle and the era of metaphysic or as Allah stated in the Quran: Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while Allah has not yet made evident those of you who fight in His cause and made evident those who are steadfast? Quran 3:142.”[105]

On January 8, 2023, the Egyptian documentary and history YouTube channel Hayahbook, which has over 500,000 subscribers, published a video titled “What Are The 24 Protocols Which The Elders Of Zion Have Drafted To Be Able To Take Control Over The World?” The video discusses the authenticity of the book and says that according to a Saudi history textbook, “the protocols are secret documents that were likely approved at the first international conference for Zionism in Basel. The Jews are trying to distance themselves from the Protocols.”

According to the video, the Saudi textbook stresses that “the best evidence proving that the Protocols are authentic is by reflecting on the sequence of events that took place in the last century. Then, you would know that the changes that occurred to the Jews in politics, geography, economy, and press were identical to what has been mentioned in the Protocols.”[106]

During the month of Ramadhan (November-December) 2002, Egyptian government-controlled television and other television stations across the Arab world aired a 41-part Egyptian-produced television series called “Knight Without a Horse”, based on The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.[107] The broadcast of the series sparked an internal debate in the Arab media, due particularly to the publicity the series received in the West.

Most of those contributing to the debate praised the series’ producer for his “national” work of art. Yet as more episodes were screened, Western pressure increased. The pressure included a request from the U.S. State Department to the Egyptian government to stop the series from being aired. As the pressure rose, more and more Arab intellectuals condemned the series’ use of the Protocols and stated that they were a forgery.

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights condemned the broadcasts, saying that while freedom of expression and artistic freedom must be protected, these freedoms must not be exploited “to propagate events that might incite hatred based on religion, race, color, or gender.” The organization stressed that “most historians had made it clear that the Protocols were a fake, and demanded that the Arab television networks airing the series note this fact to the viewers, thus respecting the Arab citizen’s right to receive the correct information.”[108] Organization secretary-general Hafez Abu Sa’adeh told The Associated Press: “Supporting the Palestinian cause doesn’t need forged Protocols. What is happening on the ground [in the Palestinian territories] is more reprehensible than anything else.”[109]

The secretary-general of the Palestinian Information Ministry, Ahmad Dahbour, wrote: “…The Protocols of the Elders of Zion are a stupid pamphlet full of nonsense, that depicts an international conference of the [forces of] evil, led by yellow-faced people capable of grasping the world in their hands… like a boiled egg and squashing it. The conflict with the Zionist enterprise is graver and more dangerous than these nonsensical words. If we do not present Zionism as it is – a nationalistic, racist European movement that emerged at the periphery of the old colonialism –and imperialism – we will make ourselves easy prey…”[110]

Writing in Al-Hayat’s movie column, Ibrahim Al-Arabi opposed the airing of the series: “…By means of the series, the art of Arab television managed to place itself at the heart of a lengthy debate, going back over 150 years, about the book, which today is known with certainty to be a ‘fabrication’ by the Russian Tsar’s secret police aimed at justifying attacks on the Russian Jews. This book always served fascist, racist, and antisemitic regimes, for stepping up persecution of the Jews – with a more disastrous result for the Arabs than for the Jews.[111]

The Egyptian government’s official argument that they could not stop the program from being aired because Egypt guaranteed freedom of expression was also rejected by the Arab intellectuals.

Following pressure levied from different directions, Egyptian Television decided to replace the original opening sequence declaring, “some of the events [depicted here] are real, and some are imaginary; some have already taken place, and some will take place in the future,” with one that, while it did not completely rule out the possibility that the Protocols were authentic, clarified “that the series is not aimed at proving the authenticity of the so-called Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which have not been historically proven to be correct…”[112]

Furthermore, the foreword in a new edition of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, published in Egypt in July 2002 following great viewer interest in the series, refers to the possibility that the Protocols are a forgery. The foreword explains the view that the Protocols are a secret Jewish plan to take over the world, but also sets out “a different approach, found particularly in the West and among Jewish intellectuals, that the Protocols are an example of racist literature and hate literature.”[113]

American congressmen’s harsh reactions to the series led to an Egyptian response on the highest diplomatic level. In December 2002, President Mubarak’s political advisor Dr. Osama Al-Baz published a series of articles in the Egyptian government daily Al-Ahram[114] in which he offered an extensive analysis of antisemitism, debunked some of the most notorious antisemitic myths, particularly the Protocols, the blood libel, and Holocaust denial, and stated that antisemitism originated in Europe and not in the Arab or Muslim world.

“With regard to the false Protocols,” Al-Baz explains in his analysis, “there is a great deal of proof and evidence showing that these Protocols are forged.” He sets out in detail historical research findings regarding their origin, and states: “Anyone who looks through these Protocols carefully will easily find two important facts: First, most of the topics to which the Protocols refer are completely Russian… which shows that the author of the false documents was Russian in his concepts and interest, and that he expressed the opinion of the Russian ruling class during the last years of its rule. Second, the Protocols make the Jews simultaneously responsible for something and for its opposite. They are responsible for good and evil, for revolution and counterrevolution, for capitalism and communism.”

“In addition,” Al-Baz continued, “it should be taken into account that Hitler used these false Protocols to incite the German people against the Jews, and to claim that they are conspiring against it, destroying the German economy, and acting to bring down the foundations of the state by conspiring with foreign elements because they are disloyal to the state in which they live. All this [he did] so as to attain his goal, which was essentially to purge Germany and the countries it conquered of Jews. This caused the physical destruction of many of Europe’s Jews.”[115]

The former sheikh of Al-Azhar, Muhammad Sayyid Tantawi, was of a different opinion.[116] In an interview, he told the Egyptian ‘weekly Aakher Sa’a that he was too busy to watch the series, but that “what I know is that the source of Semitism is our master Noah, peace be upon him, who begat Shem, Ham, and Japhet. Shem definitely had offspring, which led to this tremendous number of white, red, yellow, and black people – that is, a collection of Jewish, Arab, Muslim, and other people. Thus, we are Semites and others are Semites, and Semitism is the monopoly of no one. However, what is important is that we are all the children of a single father and a single mother… we were created from a single soul. Whence, then, come discrimination and the argument that there are Semites and non-Semites? This claim comes from loathsome racism…”

“I assume that the series contains criticism of ‘some of the Jews’ traits, or that it presents these traits. But this is no reason to make such an artificial uproar. I have proven that we were Semites even before they were, and it is inconceivable for anyone to show hostility towards himself– I am a Semite – how, then, should I be hostile towards myself? The charge of antisemitism was invented by the Jews, as a means of pressuring the Arabs and Muslims and with the aim of implementing their conspiracies in the Arab and Muslim countries. It shouldn’t be disregarded.”[117]

Syrian ambassador to Oman Dr. Riyadh Na’san Agha wrote in the United Arab Emirates daily, Al-Ittihad: “The American position’ regarding the ‘Knight Without a Horse’ series aroused suspicions among some Arab intellectuals and artists that the day would come when the U.S. Congress would pass a law that the White House is responsible for censoring literary and cultural works in the Arab and Islamic world (in addition to its responsibility for censoring the curriculum). An [American] censorship department will be established, and its task will be to approve publication and broadcasting after it is ascertained that the work contains no criticism of Israel’s policy, ideology, or goals. This department will report to the supreme authority in Tel Aviv, and if it catches any artistic or ideological work committing the crime of hurting the Zionists’ feelings… the ones responsible for the work will be arrested and brought before the court of the Zionist inquisition on charges of antisemitism.”

“The first paradox is that many Americans and some Europeans are unaware that this charge, which Israel uses to persecute and blackmail them, cannot be directed at the Arabs because they themselves are Semites…”

“In contrast, the Western Jews and the settlers who come from Europe, America, and the whole world – and they are the majority in Israel – have no connection to Semitism…”

“The second paradox is that the Arabs were completely uninterested in the book called The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which is not mentioned in the literature of the Palestinian issue or in the Arab curricula. Even if it is mentioned in some sources, there is some doubt as to its authenticity. Perhaps the secret behind this disregard of the book lies in the fact that the Arabs are not interested in lending any mythological aspect to Zionism [which is what the book does]. However, some Arabs do not rule out the possibility that a group among the Zionists wrote this book and sent it out to the markets… and then there was an uproar about it, to provide publicity and to rake in the profits, as well as to arouse fear and horror among the Gentiles…”

“The third paradox is that 50 and a half years ago, the Arabs stated that their quarrel with Zionism does not mean a

quarrel with the Jewish religion. Many Oriental Jews lived in their Arab homelands for centuries, and no one persecuted, imprisoned, or expelled them as was done in the West. On the contrary, they held top positions in the courts of the Arab regimes, as in commerce and medicine. They also had a monopoly on gold. Even in the years of the conflict, before and after the 1948 war, the Jews remained in the Arab region, and no one harmed them…”

“The fourth paradox is that The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which are presumably are drawn from the Torah and the Talmud, imply hostility towards Christianity and not towards Islam… As the story goes, when the Russian [Tsar] Nikolai Alexandrovich found out what resolutions were passed in the famous Basel congress, he was horrified, because they stated that the Jews would act to enslave the entire world in order to control it. He gave a copy of the Protocols to his friend the Russian scientist Sergei Nilus, who translated them, researched them, and compared what was written in them to what happened in the world during that time, and found a match. For this reason, there was pandemonium in Tsarist Russia when the document became widespread in 1902, and because of the Russian anger against the Jews, massacres were carried out, in one of which 10,000 victims were murdered. The Jews collected the copies of the book [from the shops], burned them, and renounced it…”

“The Americans were interested in the Protocols. It reminded them of the speech to Congress by their president, Benjamin Franklin[118], in which he said: “Gentlemen, a great danger threatens the United States. This danger is the Jews. Everywhere they act to bring down morality. Throughout their long history, they have remained isolated, cut off from the nations among which they lived. They have not integrated into the cultures but acted always to incite financial crises and strangle the economies [of these nations], as happened in Portugal and Spain. If they are not expelled from the U.S. in accordance with the constitution, within a hundred years they will come to this land in great numbers and will take us over and destroy us.”

“The Americans were also reminded of the words of their president, Lincoln: ‘I see on the horizon a crisis slowly approaching. This crisis makes me fear for the well-being of my country. Today, the power is in the hands of the big companies, and this will lead to corruption reaching the highest offices, since the wealthy will act to preserve their control of the country, and all the country’s resources will be under the control (of a small group)… which will lead to the shattering of the Republic…'”[119]

In the Syrian media, there was unequivocal support for the series. in the ruling party’s Al-Baath daily, columnist Wahib Sarai Al-Din wrote: “… The Protocols are based on the flagellation of human society, sucking its blood, harming its sanctity, and attacking human rights, morality, and general values so as to take ownership of all the nations of the world – which Zionism calls ‘Gentiles’ to be treated as it says in the Talmud: ‘The Jews must not show sympathy for the Gentile, because the Gentile is his enemy and the enemy of [the Jewish] Jehovah…'”

After more discussion of the Protocols, and citing lengthy excerpts from them, Sarai Al-Din wrote that the Protocols called for the “destruction of the world.” However, he hastened to reassure his readers that “the Palestinian people and all the Arabs have decided to enter the battle to defend their land, their rights and all humanity.”[120]

An editorial in the Egyptian government daily Al-Masaa discussed the argument that the U.S. was threatening to stop foreign aid to Egypt because of the airing of the program; the paper’s response to the U.S.: “Go to hell with your aid.”[121]

The Palestinian Authority daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida criticized the series in an article by the director of the Palestinian Information Ministry, Ahmad Dahbour. Dahbour wrote: “…The Protocols of the Elders of Zion are a stupid pamphlet full of nonsense, which depicts an international conference of the [forces of] evil, led by yellow-faced people capable of grasping the world in their hands… like a boiled egg and squashing it. The conflict with the Zionist enterprise is graver and more dangerous than these nonsensical words. If we do not present– Zionism as it is – a nationalistic, racist European movement that emerged at the periphery of the old colonialism and imperialism – we will make ourselves easy prey…”[122]

In an April 15, 2022 video published on the YouTube channel of the Egyptian Al-Hadath Al-Youm TV, Mohamed Sobhi, who produced and starred in “Knight Without a Horse”, claimed that two million copies of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion were sold after his series was aired. He said: “Two million copies [of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion] — some of which were in warehouses, here in Egypt, that could not be published? But after the series [‘Knight Without A Horse’] was broadcast, a number of newspapers and magazines published the book. Two million copies were circulated. Young students at universities bought the book in order to read it. I think that even if you do not believe in this idea, you should read the book, and you will see that it has been realized, time and again.”[123]

Bookstores, Books, and Audio Versions

Arabic book versions of the Protocols, in hard copy or digital, are ubiquitous, as are the online voices flogging various versions of the book and encouraging its reading. Noor-book.com, an online bookstore, provides a free downloadable version of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion written by late Lebanese historian Ajaj Noueihed (1897-1982). According to the site, this 680-page book has been downloaded over 13,700 times and read directly from the site over 4,500 times. In the book preface, Noueihed wrote: “Finally, I would like to say something that might seem strange at this moment in early 1967: when Allah allows the Arab nation to uproot the might of the global Judaism from Palestine, and this will happen with Allah’s permission, then the entire world would understand the great service the Arab have done to mankind by ridding the world of the evil gangs that are considered by the non-Jews as animalistic seed and in reality that seed is represented in the followers of the Protocols.”[124]

Under the same title “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion,”Noor-book.com offers a free downloadable copy of this version which was prepared by a man named Ibrahim Abdallah. In the introduction, Abdallah writes: “The Jews claim that the Protocols were fabricated but the great war was not a lie and the fate of Russia was not a lie and the elders of Zion had predicted long time ago dating back to 1901. The great war was not a German war, but rather a trap plotted by the Jews, and it was a war caused by the Jews so they would take over the wealth of the world. The Jews exploited all the commanders of armies and leaders of fleets and data and result of the Jutland Battle presents a tiny example that could explain how the Jews led the war in land and in the sea and how they managed to control all the parties that were engage in a war to work for the interest of the Jews.”[125]

On February 26, 2020, Nrchay, a member of the San Francisco-based Internet Archive (Archive.org), shared a free 738-page PDF version titled “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, the Plots of the Freemasonry To Take Control Over the World” by Egyptian writer Mansour Abd Al-Hakeem.

Introducing his book, Abd Al-Hakeem wrote: “When you read the Zionists’ Protocols, you will clearly see that they aim

to create great chaos that would threaten the stability of the world which was coined by former U.S. President George W. Bush (the Constructive Chaos) whose objective to take control over the world’s population and enslave them. In this book, we will display these protocols, explain their objectives, [and] connect them to today’s political reality and point to what have already been implemented in past and present time as well as the goals that the Zionists would like to achieve in the near future. These Protocols are [products] of Zionists-Freemasonry 100%. The Protocols are a well-planned plot which were written secretly and intentionally or accidently uncovered to terrorize the world and highlight the capability of the Jews and the joy they would express when they achieve their goals and show their hostility to mankind.”[126]

On May 8, 2016, Archive.org member Kotobmamno3a uploaded downloadable versions of the Protocols including in PDF titled “The Jewish Peril, Protocols of the Elders of Zion.”

On its cover page, the book was described as “the first complete and honest Arabic translation.” One interesting note included in the 224-page book states: “O reader, make sure to have a copy of this version because the Jews have been targeting this book wherever at appears anywhere in all languages. They would sacrifice anything to collect its copies and burn them so that the world wouldn’t read their hellish conspiracies which have been exposed in this book.”

On March 13, 2017, an Internet Archive user named Overalllibrary published still another version of the Protocols titled “Revelation and the Opposite – The Protocols of the Elders of Zion in the Quran”, introduced by Egyptian Islamist author Bahaa Al-Amir. Overalllibrary included multiple downloadable versions including in PDF for the 789-page book.

In the book’s 28-page introduction, Al-Amir stressed that when he read the Protocols for the first time, he was certain that they were authentic and had no doubt they were written by the Jews. He also dedicated a few pages to refute the arguments of Egyptian academic Dr. Abdel Wahab El-Messiri that the Protocols were fabricated. Al-Amir concluded by saying that “the war with the Jews and their west is a war of ideas and ideologies. The armies, the weapons, negotiations, politics, lands, monuments, history and geography are parts of the weapons of this war and its tools or perhaps some of its consequences and outcomes… Our battle with the Jews is a battle to reconquering the world and reforming it with the revelation after it was seized and corrupted by the Jews who removed the revelation and promoted its contradictions.”[127]

On June 30, 2020, Internet Archive user the Library of History published multiple downloadable copies of an Arabic version of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

In the introduction, the author wrote: “Actually, I have studied the Protocols and other books that address the same topic and reached a conclusion that the Protocols are authentic and the secret plot to establish a global Jewish government which was mentioned in these Protocols is an actually existing plot.”[128]

On November 19, 2020, Internet Archive user Maktbah published an Arabic version of the book The Red Fog Over America by Canadian conspiracy theorist William Guy Carr (who died in 1959), titled in Arabic: “The Jews Are Behind Every Crime”. The user shared links to downloadable copies in multiple formats.

On April 8, 2022, Internet Archive user Invalid.Vitae uploaded downloadable versions of a book titled “Israeli Media and the Art of the Propaganda” by Jordanian author Bassam Abdul Rahman Al-Mashaqbeh who included all the 24 protocols in it.

Highlighting the importance of his book, Al-Mashaqbeh wrote: “This book, which is amongst the specialized books that focus on international media, sheds light on the concept as well as the emergence of the idea, the movement and the Zionist ideology. It also addresses the philosophy and strategy of the Zionist movement based on the religious, secular and Zionist references the most notable of which the Protocols of the malicious of Zion. Those who follow the events of the crisis and economic implications that are taking place in the world would notice the deceptive Zionist role in this global movement.”[129]

On June 16, 2019, Internet Archive user Maha Imababi uploaded a nine-pages summary of a book about the protocols titled “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and Its Biblical Roots” by author Al-Hussainy Abu Al-Yazeed.

In the summary, Imababi described Abu Al-Yazeed’s book as “a mix between history, psychology and religion. At the beginning, the author talks about the history of the Zionist movement from the time of its founding, then he analyses the psychological characteristics of its members. The author then takes us on a journey about the roots of this biblical movement and how their distorted religious texts support their claims. We will learn about the difference between the stories of prophets in the Quran and how their distorted texts accuse them of betrayal, lying and deception. The book also presents the historical sequence of the founding of the of state of the Zionist occupation and how they secretly plotted to seize it. The book talks about the secret behind the power of the Jews and why it seemed that everything is under their control?”[130]

On April 18, 2022, the Facebook page of the Alfairouz Bookstore in Jerusalem published a post describing the Protocols as “the most dangerous book published in the world.”

The post said: “One has to carefully study the Protocols word by word and also has to be knowledgeable about the streams of history and societal norms as well as being aware of the events of Jews’ history and the history of the world, and particularly the incidents perpetrated by the Jews… [This book] uncovered the Jews’ hellish conspiracy which aims at corrupting the world and spreading decadence so that the entire world would submit to Jewish interests and their dominance… [It also contains] the plot of the Zionist protocols to take control over the world by controlling trade, the financial market, and the media by various means, both legal and illegal. In this book, you will read the full analysis of these protocols and the parts that have already taken place in reality. This book is worth reading more than once.”[131]

On August 26, 2022, Libyan Facebook user Hasan Moussa Abu Sneina published a long post titled “The Zionist Protocols from Theory to Destruction”, which is a title of a book, the cover of which he also shared.

According to Abu Sneina, “the Protocols have managed to found the central Jewish government in Palestine in 1948 and they have imposed themselves on the world through their dominance… They have controlled all the media in major countries that are trusted by most Arab and Muslim countries in the region. In the name of personal freedom, they removed the restrictions between boys and girls. They promoted that religion is the opium of the people, religion is a synonym of backwardness, religion is 

the opium of the people, religion is a synonym of backwardness, religion is equivalent to lack of knowledge, [and] religion is incompatible with freedom and democracy would only suit Jews and the people in the West. That was the content of the Protocols of the genius of Zion. It is the most mature book amongst the three books (more mature than the Torah and more violent than the Talmud.)”Abu Sneina then listed all 24 protocols.

On August 23, 2020 Egyptian Twitter user Ali Elbadri shared the cover of the book the Protocol of the Elders of Zion along with a tweet saying: “The Protocols of Zion. 24 Protocols that talk about creating chaos, revolutions and wars. Power grabbing, controlling the education and the press. Overthrowing monarchies, destroying religions, controlling trade, … controlling the industrialization and the agriculture, starting global wars, destroying morality, spreading atheism, exhausting nations with debt.”[132]

On May 18, 2020, Twitter user @elector3 shared a photo of the cover of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, commenting: “The mental manipulation… The destruction of values and principles and the vicious attempts to destroy Islam that have happened and that are happening now, which we have seen and witnessed, are not surprising to those who read the Protocols of Zion and what has been written about the Freemasonry. These books have clearly and shamelessly talked about the plots of the enemies against the Islamic Ummah, mankind, and morality.”[133]

On December 4, 2020, Saudi Twitter user Hashim Bin Muhammad Barzanji, who has over 19,000 followers, tweeted: “A secret plot to take control over the world. This plot relies on violence, tricks, wars, and revolutions, and it focuses on industrial renovation and capitalism to solidify their authority. The best proof that the protocols are authentic would be in contemplating on the sequence of events in the last century, because the changes that happened to the Jews in politics, geography, economy and media matched what is written in the Protocols…. The Protocols also includes brutal repression, brain washing, abuse of power, arresting rivals… In 1921, Philip Graves published a series of articles in the London-based Times in which he proved that the Protocols were undoubtedly fabricated and he proved that part of the Protocols were taken from previous books that had nothing to do with Jews. Assuming that the Protocols were fabricated, the reality shows a more dangerous plots than the Protocols.”

On September 6, 2018, U.S.-based Twitter user Jamal Bin Hejaz, who has over 78,000 followers, tweeted: “Global Zionism seeks to make the entire world one country ruled by a short one-eyed man and Jerusalem becomes the capital of the world. This objective would not be achieved unless the world’s religions are destroyed according to the fourth article in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. This explains the vicious attack against Islam.”[134]

On February 14, 2023, Twitter user Tima, who has over 19,000 followers, shared a link to an English PDF of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Tima encouraged everyone to read the Protocols, which she described as “disturbing”.

She elaborated: “Without understanding this, it would not be possible to understand the enemy and its exact plots. In summary, the Protocols consider the Goyim, the animals which is what they call people, mentally inferior to the Jews.” She also listed some of the key points of the Protocols, including control of the media, the sparking of wars, the use of blackmailing, exerting control over governments, and more.”[135]

On July 27, 2022, Fahad Alfadhel, the CEO of the Darnotebook publishing house, tweeted: “The following are items mentioned in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion that we see in the world today: Destruction of free media, tampering with prices and contriving of crises to cause financial problems so that the non-Jewish Goyim would not be able to own land. Sowing discord by using influential people. Over policing. Contriving full-blown war when in danger.”[136]

On February 8, 2021, Twitter user Hayfaa Bin Saeed Al-Ahdal, who has over 18,000 followers, shared a photo of an Arabic version of Henry Ford’s The International Jew. She commented: “A New book. For the first time in my life, I obtained a book that focuses on history and politics. This book contains numerous articles published in 1920 by Henry Ford, a political writer, an industrialist, and the founder

Ford Motor Company. The book talks about the Protocols of the Jews and how their businesses flourished and so on.”[137]

On July 4, 2018, Twitter user Azzam AlShareef tweeted: “Forty years ago, I read the book the Jewish Peril, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and I used to wonder about the content of the book but when I reread the book recently I found that the Arab countries and their governments are the ones implementing what have been written in the Protocols precisely… It is a plot to destroy all honorable and free lives.”[138]

On December 5, 2017, Saudi Twitter user Hdrogi tweeted: “Every day, I become more convinced about the importance of reviewing The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and discussing its objectives, methodologies, and results on all media outlets, and anyone who would express cynicism or downplay the conspiracy theory should be thrown in the nearest trash container. People should be aware of what has been plotted against them and what would only happen after taking full control of the media.”[139]

On January 2, 2023, a Twitter account named “Our Might is in our Unity”, which has over 14,000 followers, tweeted: “The Protocols of Zion to bring down regimes, nations, values, religion and economy in the world with political programs to take control over the world using the law of Zion. Exhausting countries with debts and usury are their main weapons to dominate after they would destroy the industrial sector and agriculture by using conspiracy, deception and working diligently to destabilize nations, then bankrupt them and drive a wedge between the people.” The tweet also featured the covers of two different printed versions of the Protocols.[140]

On March 10, 2023, freelance interpreter Amer Hwitat tweeted a link to a free Arabic-language PDF version of the Protocols. He commented: “[This is] what has been implemented so far. As Herzl was leaving the meeting of the Elders [in which] Uganda was suggested as a homeland for the Jews, an elderly woman spat on him and said: how dare you accept a land other than the Promised Land! Spitting is a Jewish habit.”[141]

On February 27, 2023, Twitter user Alrahabi11 tweeted: “U.S. Secretary of State said at the U.N Evil Council, we will work on the Middle East region collectively if we can or on our own if necessary and we will disregard any limits or international laws or the United Nation because for us and for our interests that region is of paramount importance. Of course, the U.S. backed by the Zionist and Freemasonry lobby seek to take full control over the world, people, and resources. They consider all of that as personal property that the non-Jews whom they describe as Goyim or insects that should be exterminated and used as servants for the Jews according to the Talmud and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion don’t deserve them.”[142] The post was hashtagged “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion”, “Their Talmud”, and “Monroe Doctrine”.

Yemeni Twitter user ismail711ah, who has over 18,000 followers, tweeted: “What Iran is doing against the nations of the Islamic world is an execution of what the Jews have plotted in their protocols. Read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.”[143]

On January 29, 2023, Twitter user zogbaralneny, who has over 42,000 followers, tweeted: “Now is the time to read the book The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The book includes numerous reports exposing a secret plot to take over the world. The plot relies on violence, deceptions, wars, and revolutions, and it focuses on industrial modernization, undermining morality, and destruction of all the Abrahamic religions except Judaism.”[144]

On May 23, 2022, Saudi Twitter user Abd Al-Aziz Bin Abdallah Al-Faleh, who has over 40,000 followers, tweeted: “It has been mentioned in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion: ‘We should seek to destroy morality everywhere so we can easily take control over the world. Freud is one of us and he will continue to display sexual relations in broad daylight so that nothing remains sacred in the eyes of the youth, whose ultimate goal would be satisfying their sexual urge and by then, their morality will be destroyed.'”[145]

On February 18, 2022, Twitter user Flat Earth, who has over 18,000 followers, shared a poster claiming that global mega-corporations operate in accordance with “the second Protocol from The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and these channels are: governments, media and education.”[146]

On March 19, 2023, Kuwaiti Twitter user Eng.hamad_al3nzi shared three paragraphs from the Protocols and commented: “Whoever reads these lines from The Protocols of Elders of Zion will know the secret behind the nonsense of Corona.”[147]

Twitter user Coffeeandbook2, who has over 30,000 followers, tweeted that a photo of an Arabic-language copy of the Protocols and said that the book “talks about the Jewish plot to take over the world politically, militarily and economically. The document consists of 24 protocols, including: controlling education, destroying religions, and controlling the masses 

controlling gold [resources] and spreading unemployment.”[148]

On October 26, 2022, the Arabic-language “Reality of Feminism” Facebook page, which has over 10,000 followers, published a post claiming that feminism was a “plot” described in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, adding: “The main objective of feminism is to destroy Islam, break up societal bounds, destroy families, free women’s bodies and legalizing all forms of homosexuality. This is a Freemasonry plot that was mentioned in The Protocol of the Elders of Zion under the title: promoting pornography.”[149]

One Facebook account with 19,000 followers published a video on February 10, 2017 that says: “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is authentic and not a lie, and whoever reads it will know this. It includes plots and tricks that have already been implemented, such as ending Tsarist rule in Russia, the promotion of communism[,] the downfall of the Ottoman Islamic Caliphate before the founding of Israel, the founding of Israel, the ingathering of Jews in Israel, the downfall of dynasties in Europe, in Germany, Austria, Romania, Spain and Italy, the breaking out of world wars for the first time in history where both sides lose and only the Jews stood to gain… Two world wars have already taken places and the Jews are setting the stage now for a third one.”[150]

Egyptian digital creator Ahmad Bin Issam, who has 9,000 followers on Facebook, wrote on what Ukraine-based dentist Houzayfa Akkari said in a video posted on April 26, 2021 to his YouTube channel: “These protocols were not fabricated, nor are they a fiction movie. We see them [applied] in our daily lives and they are being carried out in a consistent pace, seeking to establish the Greater State of Israel from the Nile to the Euphrates.”[151]

On November 29, 2022, Essam endorsed the book on Facebook, writing that: “one does not need to sit down with experts in economy, politics and social science to know that the 24 protocols that were mentioned in the book describe exactly the situation that we are experiencing… A piece of advice: Read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. You will feel a weird feeling as if you are watching what is happening in reality events following events but from behind the scenes… Most people in the West believe that the book is an inconsistent absurdity and a fabrication [as] a media campaign to boost anti-Jews hatred in the world and encourage the Germans to continue their genocide (holocaust) against the Jews… Personally, I believe everything the West supports must be false or must serve their interest… Reading this book will increase your knowledge and awareness and prove to you that there is a real conspiracy, particularly against Islam.”[152]

On August 17, 2022, the Egyptian YouTube channel Tha’iroun livestreamed a one-hour discussion titled “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion“in which the speaker, Mansour Abd Al-Hakeem, stressed that “reality suggests that these protocols are real and not fabricated.”Abd Al-Hakeem added: “If we reviewed the 24 protocols, we will find that only the last protocol has not been implemented yet. This one is all about the inauguration of their great master, or their king, who will rule over the world – the Antichrist.”[153]

On June 4, 2021, a Facebook page with over 187,000 followers called “The Events Of the End of the World”shared a video saying: “The best evidence proving the authenticity of the Protocols is examining the sequence of events during the past century and since the year 2000. The political, economic, media, and geographic changes that happened to the Jews, as well as what is happening all over the world, and especially in the Arab world, is exactly what had been mentioned in the protocols.”[154]

On January 19, 2023, Facebook user Mahmoud M. Fawaz published a long post titled “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion“presenting an argument for the authenticity of the protocols. He wrote: “Not all thinkers are convinced that the Protocols were fabricated, such as the great thinker Abbas Mahmoud Al-Aqqad, who mentioned in the introduction of the Arabic version of the book that the Protocols did not bring anything new to what has already been mentioned in the recognized Jewish books such as the Talmud and the other traditional Jewish books.”[155]

On January 16, 2023, the Jordan-based “Cultural Dialogue Channel” YouTube channel livestreamed a three-hour discussion about the Protocols. One of the researchers said: “What is certain about these protocols is that they were uncovered to expose the Zionist and not the other way around. It is not something they would be proud of but rather these were leaks about what they intend to do in the world.”[156]

On April 24, 2019, a public Facebook public group called “The National Secular Stream in Syria”, which has over 11,000 members, published a post reading: “Those who read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion understand the extent of the game played by the Freemasons which includes killings, destruction, besieging of countries and causing famine to its nations as well as igniting sectarian tensions. The Zionist Freemasons were involved in the torching of the famous Notre-Dame cathedral. The Jews who killed Christ and the prophets have played a role in eradicating religious centers which are dear to people’s feelings and their privacy. The Jews are the cause of crisis in the world and Wahhabism, the Muslim Brotherhood and its branches are their tools.”[157]

On May 11, 2018, a Facebook page called “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” published a post under the title: “The 22 Protocol: Gold”. The post reads: “The plot is in its final stages under the protection of the U.S.: You can see that the system which U.S. President Bush used to call for in the early 1990’s after the collapse of the Soviet Union is included in the Protocols almost under the same phrase (the new global system) and these exact words are written on the Dollar in the Latin language. This is an indication that the plot is in its final stages. Here is the U.S. occupying Afghanistan and Iraq and its declared list. We are witnessing a decisive phase.”[158]

On September 22, 2014, the Egyptian Facebook page Kemet Al-Ozma Khafaya Wa Asrar, which has over 191,000 followers, published a post saying that the seventh Protocol states: “We will seek to overthrow regimes that we can support militarily and prevent them from receiving support from their neighboring countries by creating conflicts or overthrowing the regimes in the neighboring countries.” The page then explains how the armies in both Syria and Iraq have been destroyed, and that Libya, Sudan, and Yemen have been destroyed and divided. The page then argued that Egypt is the next target in the conspiracy because it has “foiled their plots in the Tatar War, the Crusades, and the 1973 October War to create the capital of their god, the Antichrist, in Mount Zion in Jerusalem… No one will succeed in overthrowing a state that is protected by the angels.”[159]

The same page published a long post on December 2, 2018, titled “The Arab Spring, the European Spring and the Robbery of the World’s Resources”. The post reads: “Of course, after we have witnessed what happened in France, Belgium and prior to that in Spain and what is taking place in the rest of European countries, there would be no room to cast any doubt that they were preplanned carefully and the steps were copied and pasted and the slogans of live, liberty and social justice are no longer logical since [these events] are taking place in countries that are beacons of freedom and social justice… The entire plot is included in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The world’s nations must be transformed into small, fragmented communities (known as Goyim) that fight each other and make their countries small and divided.”[160]

On May 26, 2014, Abd El Rahman Afifi, the administrator of a Facebook page called “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” published a post in which he wrote: “Some of you may wonder about the name of this group and might not know the meaning of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Allah willing, I will explain everything in detail. In this group, I will explain to you the Jews’ plots to dominate the world. These words are not from any [unrelated] books or references. Everything mentioned will be from The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a book which was written by the Jews themselves, and we will explain from this the crimes the Jews have committed in the Arab world. I hope you will like the group.”[161]

On April 12, 2012, Egyptian Facebook user Mohamed Amen shared a video titled “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and its connection to the Egyptian revolution and others.” In the video description, Amen wrote: “The video explains an excerpt from the book The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which was written 114 years ago. What is surprising is that major parts of the book have been implemented on the ground in the Arab revolutions, and that is not a coincidence but rather an ancient clash between good and evil.”[162]

On February 9, 2012, Syrian Facebook user Raghed Arnouk published a post in which he wrote: “The Jews’ plot to sow discord and ignite wars between Sunnis and Shi’ites goes back 114 years. At the Zionist conference in Basel in 1897. some of the conference documents were leaked and became known as The Protocols of the Elders of Zion… We clearly understand that since that time, they have planned to destroy all religions. and the best way to destroy Islam is by associating it with terrorism while simultaneously supporting terrorism, and then orchestrating a war – perhaps World War III – between two Muslim sects.”[163]

On September 10, 2020, the Basa’ir Lilnas (“Insight for Mankind”) Facebook page shared a video claiming that the “Zionists have documented their thoughts in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and [aim] to make the Jews take control over the world by establishing their government in the Promised Land from the Nile River to the Euphrates River. They believe that the Jews are the original element that should be empowered, and all other nations are servants to them. They believe that the best way to rule over the world is by ruling with fear and intimidation. And they call for the exploitation of political freedom to control the masses.” The video also features footage showing Orthodox Jews.[164]

On February 10, 2023, an Algerian Facebook user going by the name Muharib Al-Khawana (“Fighters of Traitors”) shared a video of a speech delivered by Adolf Hitler, and he wrote: “Those who have read The Protocols of the Elders of Zion know who are the people controlling the world behind the scenes. They are the major Jewish families such as the Morvans [sic], the Rockefellers, and the Rothschilds. Everything has been planned long ago, such as instigating disputes and inventing diseases and then selling you the cure, and this might be just the tip of the iceberg.”[165]

On February 6, 2023, Egyptian Facebook user Mostafa Eldahshan wrote: “For the Jews, the beginning of salvation will be between 2020 and 2023. After pandemics, wars will break out in the world and superpowers will be divided and will disappear. Food will be scarce, rivers will dry up, and earthquakes and tsunamis will increase and countries will suffer crises, and God will protect countries. The Jews want to tamper with the universe in order to decrease the world’s population and take control over others by implanting electronic chips under their skins, but Allah is most capable to do anything. Read their ideology carefully – and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion in particular – and you will learn what is coming next.”[166]

On February 4, 2023, Facebook user Mohamed Rifai wrote: “The leaders of international Zionism organized many conferences, the first of which was held in the city of Basel in Switzerland in 1897, headed by [Theodor] Herzl. At the end, they documented in the Protocols their secret plots which will lead to the founding of the international kingdom of Zion to enslave the entire world under the reign of a king who will be a descendant of [King] David, initially in Jerusalem and later in Rome, the capital of the Roman Empire. The cornerstone in this plot is controlling the global economy by monopolizing and controlling gold and wealth…”

“I will quote the Protocols: Our strength depends on keeping workers in constant illness and poverty. By doing so, we would keep the enslaved doing our will. Envy-based violence is the main factor of the power of justice. We will unleash one patch to the streets, consisting of huge numbers of workers, to spill the blood of those they envy, and they would be able to loot their properties. They would not be able to harm us since we would know the time of the attack, and we will be prepared to protect our interests. Ruling over people is a secret and noble profession only known by an elite group of talented Jews. It is also mentioned in the Protocols that when we empower ourselves, we will be the masters of the world. We will not allow the founding of any religion other than ours and this is why we should destroy all other faith ideologies.”[167]

On February 3, 2023, Yemeni Facebook user Rashad Al-‘Ammari shared a TikTok video titled “One of the Plots of The Protocols of the Elders of the Zion,”which includes text in English and Arabic stating: “Doctors will become employees of companies. New diseases will appear; there will be no cure. The purpose of new diseases will be to reduce population. Religion will be destroyed, Bible will be rewritten, key words changed. Education will reduce the amount of information. The school year will be prolonged, not everyone will be allowed to own books. Music will become worse, changing the thoughts of the listeners. Identification will become required. Food consumption reduced; distribution will be controlled. Weather will be controllable. World government will occur, and inflation of the money supply would lead to a single banking system. Private 

Private ownership of houses ceases, high cost of housing prevents new purchasers from buying homes. Census information provides personal information. Real life heroes with old values will disappear. Entertainers and celebrities would be promoted as the heroes of children because they would advocate a wide-open lifestyle.”[168]

On February 1, 2023, Facebook user Eslam Elbahrawy, who runs a page with 316,000 followers called “The Code of Truth”, published a post titled “We Want the Children – The Exact Implementation of the Protocols.”In the post, he wrote: “It is mentioned in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion that we must destroy the society and especially the education so that the end result would be uneducated generations that would believe any piece of information. The following protocols talk about controlling the media. At the time when the Protocols were written, the meant media was radio and television but now, the meaning of media has broadened to include television, cellphones, internet and applications. The issue has grown bigger, and its weapons have become advanced. Up until the 1970’s and 1980’s, they used to kidnap children to experiment with mental control projects. Now, neuro-linguistic programming functions through programing the eyes which transfer the images to the brain, and it would be able to determine which image to store and which one not to store. Watch your children’s cellphones.”[169]

An Egyptian Facebook page called “‘Alla Al-Asl Dawwer”(“Look for the Source”), which has over 11,000 followers, published a post on January 29, 2023 describing The Protocols of the Elder of Zion. It reads: “This book includes many reports uncovering a secret plot to take control of the world. This plot relies on violence, deception, wars and revolutions and it focuses on industrial renovations and aspires for moral deterioration and the destruction of all divine religions except Judaism.”[170]

A similar post was published on January 26, 2023 by Egyptian Facebook user Tamer Hafez, who has over 5,000 followers. Hafez wrote: “More than 140 years have passed since the first meeting of rabbis, and after their plots were exposed, they tried using different means to deny this secret document which aims at taking control over the entire world. This was until Hitler came and burned them, because he knew their true nature and the extent to which the document was authentic. Despite all of this, the Arabs and the world have fallen into their trap and their satanic plots, which have been applied in the Arab world in as they wanted, and even much faster and much accurately than they expected. They managed to recruit some Muslims and officials to execute their plots in destroying values, morals, and humanity and in enslaving all non-Jews using all means by spreading inhumane and immoral behaviors, spreading diseases and pandemics, corruption, injustice, poverty, illiteracy and wars using weapons and the economy. They are being helped by those whom they recruited to carry out their satanic plots, and the upcoming years will witness the execution of the rest of these satanic plots.”[171]

On January 27, 2023, Iraqi Facebook user Jassim Almuhends wrote that the recent Quran-burning incidents in Denmark and Sweden were a conspiracy described in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Almuhends wrote: “[The Protocols] are being perfectly implemented in all countries of the world to lead European nations into wars, revolutions and conflicts with Arab and Muslim countries. It also created a conflict between Russian and Ukraine. They profit from supplying wars with weapons and ammunitions. They benefit from destroying nations and regimes by establishing their great global state. Otherwise, what would the Danish government benefit from carrying out and defending this awful act which we know that will negatively impact its export, import and policies with Muslim countries.”[172]

On December 7, 2022, the same user published a post titled “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and the Dominance over the World”in which he wrote: “Don’t be surprised about the inclusion of homosexual values in sport and in the World Cup to promote immodesty in the biggest human convention that brings together all the world’s civilizations. There are many means used to ignite initiatives that pave the way to overthrow the global system and threaten its existence by spreading chaos and pornography amongst nations and empowering corrupted sects, promoting vice … and undermining all religious, nationalist and ethical values.”[173]

On January 24, 2023, a Facebook page called “Read a Book”, which promotes books and provides free online copies, shared a link to The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and described the book as “a document entailing a plot to invade the world that was created by Jews and the Freemasonry, and it includes 24 protocols which Jewish leaders, researchers, and academics

say are one of the major conspiracies in history.”[174]

On January 20, 2023, the Egyptian Facebook page Ta’alou Nifham Sah (“Let’s Understand Correctly”) shared a post claiming that one of the most important articles in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion focuses on “spreading stultification, illiteracy, draining minds, watering down and obscuring the meaning of words and the dominance of idiots, not only over regimes but also over thoughts and writings.”[175]

On January 19, 2023, Egyptian Facebook user Hisham Elshal shared the text of the 20 Protocols. He wrote: “These are parts of the 20 protocol from The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Exhausting non-Zionist countries in foreign debts, this is exactly what happened to us and what currently is taking place.”[176]

On January 17, 2023, Boston-based personal trainer Champ Remoun published an Arabic-language post in which he recounted his personal experience with the book. He wrote: “There is a book called The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. I read part of the book and felt that the entire world is conspiring against me. In addition, I felt that the entire world is serving one specific force which is the main mover of all events in all parts of the world and it is the one controlling everything.”[177]

Yemeni Facebook user Muhammad Al-Ahmady published a post on January 15, 2023 in which he praised an imam for saying in a Friday sermon that “part of the objectives of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is establishing media outlets to attack scholars who played a role in defending the ummah and its issues such as [the famed Egyptian] Sheikh El-Sha’rawi.”According to Al-Ahmady, the imam, Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Hodhod, noted that “the campaign against Muslim scholars comes within the context of the war against Islam and Muslims which is an extension of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.”[178]

This theme was echoed in another Facebook post published on January 13, 2023, by Egyptian Facebook user Ahmad Saudi Al-Azhari titled “Belittling The Scholars is the Policy of the Enemies of Humanity: The Jews.”Al-Azhari wrote: “It has been mentioned in The Protocols of the Elders of Zion that: we have dedicated huge efforts to denigrating the dignity of non-Jewish religious figures in the eyes of the public, by doing so, we would succeed in tarnishing their message which could be a major obstacle for us. The influence of religious figures on people is decreasing day by day.”[179]

On January 8, 2023, Egyptian Facebook user Muhammad Sultan published a post in which he wrote that The Protocols of the Elders of Zion “includes 24 protocols that are being implemented to rule over the world. Anyone who reads the book will know about the economic crisis that is happening to us and to the world and the conspiracy against religious figures such as Imam Sha’rawi and against anyone who influences the youth or people in general… ISIS ideology that has emerged at this time so that people would cast doubt on the essence of their religion … All of this was planned and no one should be shocked. We are taking part in one of the worst wars which have been waged in the last 100 years.”[180]
