Will CNN ever stop being hilariously inept? Probably not, seeing as the American news network devoted a segment Saturday to discussing a black “ISIS flag” seen at the London Pride parade. Just one problem: the flag was an obvious joke, with the Arabic characters seen on the terrorist group’s banner replaced with the outlines of sex toys.
CNN International’s Lucy Pawle described how she was just leaving work when she came across the annual LGBT march and spotted the unusual flag.

“This man dressed in black and white was waving what appears to be a bad mimicry, but a clear attempt to mimic, the ISIS flag, the black and white flag with the distinctive lettering,” Pawle said. “If you look at the flag closely, it’s clearly not Arabic. In fact, it looks like it could be gobbledygook.”

Not realizing her mistake, Pawle even boasted: “I seem to be the only person who has spotted this, and nobody seems to be raising questions or pointing this out.”
CNN eventually clued in and removed the embarrassing clip from its website, but not before copies found their way onto YouTube.
