
Reports from Djibouti say that the government of Ismail Omar Guelleh has in the past hours placed the commanders of the country’s police and military under house arrest.
The commanders are suspected of plotting to overthrow President Guelleh and overthrow the long-serving president.
Djibouti’s military chief, General Zakariya Sheikh Ibrahim, and police chief, Colonel Abdullahi Farah, have been placed under house arrest by security forces and presidential guards, who cannot leave their homes, according to private news sources, like The Horn Daily ⬇️
